It's pretty cool to sell everything on the map, then load a bunch of explosives in one corner, and put them instant respawn (basically). FIREWORKS!!!

is there anyway to make a mine spawn so its active when u start the game

  • 10.08.2007 6:56 AM PDT

You can take a Skipper out of the Jungle, but you can't take the Jungle out of the Skip.

No, you can't make a mine spawn in active, but you can set mines with a minimum spawn quota so they are always available.

From the article:
When an object wants to respawn, it makes sure that doing so would not result in more objects of that type than the maximum allowed. For example, this is how you can make sure that no more than one Shotgun is on the map at a time, but still place three locations around the map where it could spawn at.
My question is how I set up a shotgun like this one mentioned in the article, I have tried and failed many times. Hopefully someone will have an answer or idea because this is a vital point in a custom game type I am setting up with my friends.

-A.K.A "The Strident Cartographer"

Hey! I got a new High Score! Is that bad? Guys, hey, is that bad?! "Grandma's Boy"

Hello, I actually do not have a live account. However, I host lots of LAN parties where we sometimes have 2 sets of LAN gaming occuring at the same time. I like to restrict and plan ahead what gametypes/maps are played like a tournament of sorts. Anyway, that aside, my question was if the thought of having an object spawn in past XX secs after the start of game and not be able to respawn again had been considered for DLC? The reason I ask this is because I love the Infection gametype and have customized High Ground (as have so many others) to be the main map played. The only problem is, I had hoped I would be able to send the troops a resupply air-drop after let's say 5 or maybe 10 minutes, only because weapons are limited without respawn. The survivors would then be able to make better use of this cache of power weapons to hold off the hordes for a little longer now that they have greater numbers. As well as the weapons I was also considering dropping in a 'Hog for even greater challenge and fun. Let me put my little shenanigans aside and clarify myself.

Basically, a spawn-in timer with minutes could prove to be useful on a number of fronts (even in matchmaking). It would inevitably change the gameplay of any map if an air-drop occured. This way, if a team is ruling the map with power weapons or vehicles, this new supply drop would give the down team a chance to fight back. Granted, these new weapons would be best not to spawn back in so the down team or up team doesn't rule the map with this new weapon drop.

Also, let's say I wanted to have a Flamethrower spawn in on a Weapon Holder after 60 secs. This is do-able. However, I can't disable the respawn. I know that I can toggle the min/max limits but that still doesn't solve the problem. It would also apply to the above option.

Thank you for reading and I hope that my plebish needs are at least heard and considered.

OMG, Forge makes me want to get a job and save up enough to buy a 360. The only thing that would make it better is a PC based solo version, since I think editing 3d spaces is much easier on a keyboard and trackball/mouse than a controller.

First, the bad news. That option at the top, the one called “Allow Editing”? In theory, this option would let you restrict editing to the Party Leader, and prevent everyone else from editing. In practice, ah… ahem… well, not so much. That’s what we call a “feature”. It’s like how sometimes, when a plane lands, the tires blow up. Halo 3 is that plane. This was one of those tires.

First off, awesome analogy. 10 points. Second, in what way does it not work? Is it completely broken, or just partially?

When my test subjects decide to laser me while I'm trying to place an object, I just pull out my trusty soccer ball and splatter them with it.

Would you like to play a game? Let's play global thermo nuclear WAR.

I dont like the fact that when select an object to edit it moves toward you. Most of the time when you just need to tweak something you need it to pretty much to stay in place.

I can't figure this out either. Because I can't set the maximum lower than the amount of spawn points I have for the shotgun...it doesn't make any sense?

Or does it somehow?
Please someone explain?
