I don't agree that crying over someone lost is selfish. If you are close to that person. be it love or whatever reason, why can't you be heartbroken over this loss? I've lost quite a few people around me in the 31 years I'm walking around on this planet, and these deaths all got te me, wether I was crying or not.
I suppose if I find being heartbroken over the loss of someone, then I must assume that love is like a drug. You have withdrawals when the drug is removed.
I've found that many times when people die they aren't sad for the person. The person will believe they've gone to heaven, or if they're atheist will believe they have ceased to exist. Both of these things are not necessarily bad for the person who died, so the only thing I can conclude is people cry for loved ones for selfish reasons.
ObbiQuiet, I don't know how old you are, but -not to bash or anything- you'll get your share of grief in life. Allthough dieing doesn't have to be bad for the person who did (my grandfather died just before christmas two years ago due to lung-cancer, we where glad he didn't have to suffer anymore) we all where saddened by his loss, because we loved him and now have lost him forever.
