Hey guys. I just got a 360 and I've transferred my xbox live profile to it and everything and it's works fine with xbox 360 games. But when I try to play Halo 2 on live with it, it won't connect. It says it can't connect and asks me to try the test connection thing, of course when I do this it says the connection is fine, but it still won't work with halo 2.

What idiot n00b mistake am I making people? I just can't figure this out...

I hear that family settings sometimes affect Halo 2 play - adjust it if its set low or something.

Yeah, I heard that too, but I already fixed the family settings and that isn't the problem.

Any other takers?

I won't really care come Sep. 25, but I would like to play some Halo 2 until then.

k, I have this quote here that might help, but I don't know the person that said it, so don't blame me!

"you need to go to the 360 dashboard, go to the settings, and it has an option so that you're able to play old xbox games on live on your 360"

[shrugs]

Ok, do you know where that setting is so I can fix this problem?

No, I don't. And my 360 is currently... uh, not accessible. Google comes up with nothing except what I've already told you, and none of my friends are awake right now (4:30am over in the UK...).

I'd suggest just go through the menus until you find it, sorry.

Just to be clear, I only have one profile on my box and it's not a child profile. And currently my family settings are disabled, so that isn't the problem. I've been thumbing through the menu and can't find anything to help me.... Either something is very messed up with my system or the solution is very simple and I'll think myself an idiot when I figure it out, lets hope its the latter. In the mean time, if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

I have the same problem. It seems to be happening to quite a bit others also. I don't know the cure either and have gone through everything on the box (that I know of)

ok i hate to be mean about this but you should step away form your computer right now. To fix this you should go to the live dashboard system tab, family settings xbox live controls and set it up so that it will allow the playing of -blam!- games like halo 2 for the xbox video game console.

As I already stated, I CAN NOT ACCESS THE XBOX LIVE CONTROLS! Because I don't have a child account. When I click on Xbox live controls it says this:

"There were no Xbox Live child profiles found.

To use Xbox Live Family Settings, please create a child profile that has Xbox Live or insert a memory unit with a child profile that has Xbox Live."

Of course I can do neither of those things... I'm not a complete idiot you know, and you're right, that was mean. There was no need for that.
