I read the whole guide, but will probably go back to it a lot in the coming months as I get used to using Forge, which seems to be getting more and more complex. I look forward to creating a special zombie survival variant for every map!

I did not notice an answer to this question - my apologies if I am just blind...

Will objects placed above the ground (in mid air) simply fall to the ground at the start of the game or will they freeze in the air? I have noticed vehicles on certain maps do fall from a short distance when spawing.

Sounds great and all, but one serious question remains for H3.... will bungie let us swich the location of our shield monitor in the final build? wil there be an update later to let us do this?!?! Bungie never answers! current location of the shield monitor gets in the way while im looking up... fix this pretty pretty please...

I will make a teleporter with two destinactions. One takes you to the ultimate sniper tower with a sniper rifle with extra ammo, but the other takes you to a cage of boxes in the ski, where you will be trapped forever. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

what do they mean "free of charge"? will there be some type of charge for certain customizations? the only logical thing i can think of is that you have a memory limit with each "forge" you do. also, on the screenshot of "the forge" i noticed in the bottom right of the screen that there was a number preceded by some type of symbol, maybe some type of "currency" used to determine what you can still do with the map. Look, all you damn people who think zombies and stupid game types are good, ruined this game because they fricking listened to you and added it to the game, wtf?! Zombies in Halo?!??! Who the -blam!- thought of this idea??? You added so much -blam!- to this game it became a mind -blam!-. Simplicity is the sign of perfection. Overwhelming customization of game variants, Forge, four-player co-op on local, system link and xbox live networks, campaign scoring, much more weapons, equipment, brand new vehicles including the Elephant, spartan customization, save films... how can anyone say that Halo 3 won't deliver anything new!

They covered this in an earlier update about the Forge. It's the budget, and yes, it's just like a money/memory thing, exactly as you described.

This is good stuff, thanks for all this empowerment. I like how the Teleporters can be customized to our liking. I really wasn't expecting that, it's a nice surprise. I do have one random question, will we be able to edit initial spawn weapons for individual teams? Like in a 1 flag CTF or Assault game? You know, to give the defenders or the attackers the upper hand initially? Or is that not feasible?

It was stated that crafty people would be able to find ways to get things to stick in the air. Otherwise i would have to imagine they would fall immediately after you let go of them in forge.

by the way... in the mode where the monitor is zooming around... can he go through a teleporter? how much interaction does he have besides randomly making stuff and picking stuff up and getting shot at

Yeah you can go through the teleporter with the monitor. At one point they described being able to cheat the system and grab the sender node while going through it therefore defying the laws of physics.

Can you forge man cannons? hopefully...

As i remember you can not spawn man cannons But you can place grav lifts at funny angles to create something similar.

I just finished all three articalls and i really can't wait for this. Just one question though. Is it possable for a teleporter to be on two channels at once? For instance is it possible to have a two way teleporter receive people from one teleporter on channel "x" but send people to a different teleporter on channel "y"? Just a thought...

I really look forward to it and I don't think I've gave it much thought because I'm blindsighted in anticipation for campaign

I didn't think teleporters where used but it will be interesting to play with (Spartan suicide booth: Sender Node facing player, Reciever Node facing cliff......) but seriously I really look forward to trying to come up with some fun ideas

Anyway 5 days left... or maybe 6 because I'm in UK (fingers crossed they post it a day early...)

I can just imagine the possibilities....


Either run their flag around the map... or have a 50% chance to teleport a safe distance from their base, a 25% chance to teleport into the opposing team's away spawn, and a 25% chance of getting teleported in front of those automated map boundary turrets.

Play Elimination with randomized teleporter hijinks. Everyone spawns one at a time into a teleporter that has, say, 5 exits... One of the teleporters is an endless loop... spawn at the side of a hill or something; slide into the entrance; and go back to the top. Another is an exit into a box where a scorpion spawns overhead. Another could be some type of teleport to a Rube Goldberg Machine, limited only by the budget and probably some unforeseen Forge limitations.

I can only imagine what else I could make on Halo 3 now... Gravity fed puzzles, "Vote and/or Die," make the face of Richard Nixon from like Mongooses.


Oh, a few questions:
Can I place teleporters on top (or more appropriately inside) of each other; as in, making you telefrag yourself and/or someone else?
Is the teleporter exit chosen randomly when you enter it, or is it on a timer? Like if the chosen teleporter exit is blocked, does it choose an open exit; or does it say "teleporter exit is blocked?"


Forge reminds me of how much I loved playing Garry's Mod.

Hey douche, if you don't want to play zombies, you don't have to.

Were you under the impression that you had to play zombies when you played Halo 3? That's actually not the case.

See, that's called an option or a choice. You get a lot of those in Halo 3.

Obviously your brain can't handle lots of options, or perhaps you have trouble making decisions. I know I do sometimes. Just play campaign on easy, it will make a lot of decisions for you.
