OK, I found this topic over at gamefaqs.com, posted by BringingRagnarok

...and has anyone thought of the amount of fun that could be had by putting team A with X number of lives for each team member into a highly defenseible base with team B outside with infinite lives. team A must try to survive for Y number of minutes, while team B must try to eliminate team A before time is up, just thought it might be fun

It seemed like a prety cool idea to me. Bungie, do you think you could implement something like this?

On another, related note: I believe Bungie should delay Halo 2 by 6 days to Nov. 15th. As you recall, last year there was a giant runour Halo 2 was going to come out Nov. 15, 2003. So, as an ironic tribute to the absolute stupidity of these people, we should delay Halo 2 by that much.

It'll also give Bungie more time to make this gametype possible!

That does sound like a sweet gametype, and also it owuld bring mroe stratedgy to the game, no more idiots will (hopefully) grab a sniper, get into a hog, drive away without a gunner, and get blown up at the opposite base giving the other team the vehicle. Awsome suggestion bro.

I agree, sounds like a cool gametype. You should be lynched for telling them to delay the game though.....honestly.. :)

Yea man. Sounds fun. If Bungie was to like it, maybe it can be a downloadable on Xbox Live. I wish. Good Job *thumbs up*.

It's only 6 days, you'll live. Well, actually, I don't know whether or not you will live, but hey, as long as I do......

I created a game I called "Kingdoms".

Generally, each team has one, and only one King! He carries the flag and cannot drop it.

The only way you can score a point is by killing the opposing team's king. Upon the King's death another King is randomly chosen and the flag appears in his hands.

Think about all the strategy that goes into that... just stop and think about it for a minute. There are so many ways you can play that.

"The King is Dead, Long live the King!"

wow this BringingRagnarok must be one very creative genius...nah this is me Ragnarok. the kingdom idea sounds interesting. Each team would split into pairs so whoever ends up as king would be running around with a bodyguard. In open maps it'll end up being a sniper duel with each team praying that their best sniper doesn't end up being king. But in some sort of tunnel filled map everyone would be running around with the shotguns hoping to be able to blast the king before the king's guard can get them. All the while the king is running around looking for a hole to crawl into. Of course this can be greatly simplified if 2 players both throw grenades right before they open fire upon the king and his guard (especially useful for those who play at parties with loud music).

how about a gametype in which there is no ammo on the map, and whenever you respawn you start with a random weapon in your hand which has infinate clips (with battery powered weapons they overheat for an extended length of time when you would have ran out of energy and when it cools off after the longer wait it's just like a brand new gun) Whenever someone dies their weapon that has infinate rounds is dropped onto the ground with 2 clips or a lower powered battery to be picked up and used as an alternate gun until it runs out of ammo. The first thing you would prolly want to do is attack someone who has a better weapon than you or at least take note of who is carrying what, making those with your prefered weapon more likely targets for you in a fire-fight than someone with a less liked weapon. weapon limitations would be best for this situation since certain weapons would be cheap with infinate clips (RL or SR) for grenades whenever you spawn you get a full inventory of grenades
