Err, you'll have to explain your threat-class system if you're going to use it in argument. Otherwise, you just don't make any sense, Hikaru.
The only real disagreement you seem to have with anybody who is pro-boss is how you define a boss. I think most, if not all of us are against an evil alien giant you have to circle around and shoot at (which seems to be your interpretation of a boss). However, most of everybody thinks there should be harder enemies in certain situations. Draerden brought up a good comparison with SplinterCell. In both games 'bosses' aren't giant floating alien heads or tanks, but rather particularly strong enemies with good aim like gold elites. They have the same weaknesses (the head) as anybody else, but provided much more of a challenge than some average joe.
If you agree that there should be gold elites or black commando elites, then I think you ultimately agree with Draerden and the argument is moot.
