I installed Halo 2 many times because I was troubleshooting some problems i was having with windows vista. The game still activates but now I cannot connect to Windows Live because I have exceeded the usage allowed by my product key.

This has to be the most rediculous thing ever because the game still activates and I have always used the same gamertag to play online. Why would this have a limit?

I contacted Customer Care and it was a painful experience. They generated two product keys and none of them worked and now they are saying I will need to get a refund and buy the game again. What kind of system did Microsoft implement?

Others have had similar issues. Hopefully someone will be able to help you.

This is my first games for windows release, and my last. They wont ever get another dime of my money.

The Live system sucks that bad.

Viva La Steam!

I like the Live system. It's easy to play with friends and guaranteed mic support but this limit really sucks. I also use it with my Xbox 360. I know I installed the game a lot of times but the manual did not say the Live service has a limit. I have searched every where and no one has an answer including Microsoft. I don't want to buy the game again even though they said I can get a refund. This is piss poor service imo.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I have this problem, too. After 3 days of being on the phone with Microsoft they determined I needed a new game. It's been in the mail for 11 days now. Halo 2 is so botched up it makes me physically ill. If the game doesn't show up on Monday I'm switching to Ubuntu and forgetting anything related to Microsoft or Halo.

Bottom line you need a replacement copy of the game.

I like the game but this problem really sucks. A technician is suppose to get back to me so I will wait and see. They generated 3 keys and none of them work. It's rediculous

Are they sending a replacement?

Microsoft is basically trying to sell ice to Eskimos with Games for Windows - Live. I think Live has plenty of potential on the PC, but they seriously need to polish it the hell up and improve the service.

And I didn't think the whole "make a universal identity that will take you like five minutes to make" concept of a Gamertag would be too popular amongst PC gamers.

Apparently. They said 5 days in the mail and it's been 11.
