Now i know that there has been alot of speculation over what is up with the health n halo 2 but many of the movie that have been seen do not show the player who is playing actually dieing but I recently saw a few movies and in one a player lost his shiled and te next bullet whichc hit him killed him. This would imply that you no longer have health and your life is based entiely on your shield is there any opinions on this? Personally I dont like the idea

For nay who want to see the vids(You can be hit by slow moving vehicles and not die!)

It has it's advantaged and diadvantages. For example no running back for health packs when you got 1 bar of heath left. Or in co-op no crancking your friend up side the head to replenish his/her life.
Disadvantage: After you sheilds are gone you get shot in the foot and die fo example. I dobut it will be that easy but that would be annoying.

I think there has to be certain program mods done to ensure a smooth presentation in a public demo of the game. It would be hard to show all one can do in it if your dying all the time. Also if you get killed with one bullet after shields have failed that would mean that you dont really have any health. Why would bungie do that?

the whole health feature, is only part of a demo. if you expect it to be in the final game, you would be very wrong.

It'd be very impossible for anyone in the game to get very far... on normal and above... you're guarenteed at least once that you'll get hit without shields.

Bungie did it that way so that the demo's 30 minutes went by smoothly so players weren't hiding half the time

Twelve Large ²

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

I hope bungie removes health bars and health packs. Notice I didn't say remove health.

Lets think Halo..

Weapons that remove all eight bars in one shot: Pistol, Sniper, Rocket Launcher, Grenade

Weapons that will remove shields and all eight bars in one shot: Pistol, Sniper, Rocket Launcher, Grenade

I don't really see a big difference, bars, or no bars. Especially when dual wielding comes into play. If your shields pop, you're as good as dead. Some will freak out and worry about it.. I wouldn't understand why. And some will welcome no health bars with open arms. Most, (the 99% of Halo owners that don't visit bungie.net) will not care.

Here's a quote taken from xoxoxbox..
One thing that I have yet to see mentioned by anyone, anywhere is the new shield/health system. Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong. Instead of the two bars for health and shield, there is now only one bar for shields. I was totally perplexed and dismayed by this, thinking that the shield/health system was probably one of the best innovations in Halo 1. So I had to ask a Bungie guy what it all meant. He told me that there IS health, but it's hidden under the covers for a reason. It (the health) will actually regenerate the same as shields, but FAR slower, and health doesn't hold out well against any weapon (a couple or few shots from any weapon will completely remove all health). He said that, once your shields were gone, they wanted you to know you were close to death (within a shot or two) and play it with that intensity of not knowing. Anyway, technically, it's not as big of a change as I first thought it was, and play still works largely the same, but I can not believe I haven't seen this mentioned more prominantly in people's impressions of the game.

I do think that gamers would be camping far more often in single player if health regenerated at a very slow rate. That is, if the shield/health system is the same in single player as it seems to be in multi. But like others have said, anything could change..

Haven't you noticed the gamers asking for the "impossible" or "uber Legendary" difficulties?

yea it was propably because it was a demo because when ever i get a demo for my PS2 i c a game that needs working on (that i want), and when the game comes out it (and i get it) it is better.

I think it's a GREAT change for the better and shows Bungie is interested in improving gameplay. Not having to go half way accross a map for health packs is a GOOD THING ! ! I've been playing this game as much as anyone (multiplayer) and I hope the new shield system is in for good. I'm also hoping power-ups are gone !

NICE JOB Bungie.

wow i'm mixed on this, a new shielding system means new strategy and all kinds of awesome NEW game play BUT not knowing how close you are to death bothers me, say your shields go down you know you got hit once, but your character is not limping or breathing hard how are you going to know when to go inot battle again? That system could be REALLY good, but if they half ass it it won't.

I'm also hoping power-ups are gone !

whoa! hold on now the power ups, cloak overshield. tome are a MAIN part of the game hech i hope they put a whole lot more in the game, not to where every minute you have a power up but so you can have a variety.

i hope health is in the final version. the mc does wear armour for one. one shot after your shields go down seems ridiculous considering he's built like a tank.

i've said it before but perhaps this is a multiplayer mode to encourage full out battles.

This is good but this whole health thing could completly backfire I mean people will now hide the very second there shields burst and if health can regenerate people will hide waiting for both their shields and their health to regnerate.

Power ups are key keep them but make people go out of their way to get them and make it possible to turn them off.

Have you played Halo? Because you just said Halo is ridiculous. One shot to the head with the pistol will remove not only a piece of your shields, but ALL eight of your health bars, as well.

Anything else?

the health/shield change is great i think. bungie has a very good point saying that really only your shield you watch, cuz once thats gone you are pretty much dead. and its more realistic anyway... i hate games that you can get shot 305 times and still be alive. bungie guys if you see this, i think its good the way it is. and my opinion matters cuz ill be playing the game and giving you guys my well earned $50 for halo 2. :P jk

whatever happens im sure halo 2 will be the best game ever and will cause a state of emergency across the globe
