Want to play Bungie games old and new? For Carnage Apply Within

"Don't mistake your rank and number for superiority.
The oldest child may learn from the youngest."

The only thing bungie.net is missing is a shirt that says "We must keep moving towards the arm!" that i can buy.

I am in full agreeance with you. and also NO leader board=More Fun(for the majority of the people who play the game.) And the more fun the "majority" have, the longer they will continue to play. This in turn makes the game more fun fore everyone involved, those who are the "majority', and everyone else. The "every one else" group inevtiably will have more fun if there are more people to play, and kill. So That is why No leader board =More fun. btw, I know I cant spell, and my grammer sucks, so it really wont do any good to tell me or others about it. Thanks.

Cheaters are very much a Halo phenomenon and although that theyre probably going to be a reality in Halo 3 too its kind of a negative view to assume that they will and therefor not implementing leaderboards. In my opinion they might work and if theyre not we´re all going to know about it and ignore their value as a landmark on how good we are compared to others. Its a bit like the R6V leaderboards, theyre not full of cheaters but its common knowledge that theyre broken and not updating so people arent refering to them. Ubi gave it a shot though and if it had worked it would have been a nice feature. I have way more confidence in Bungie making leaderboards work so whats holding them back. Blaming a big community and cheaters is saying that the pool of players has a negative effect on their own experience and for the cheaters...theyve already won in a way eh?

Edit: One more thing, im still looking for the most crucial stats here on b.net, individual playlist ranks for halo 3. We had them for halo 2 so why arent they there. IMO theyre far more interesting than medals earned and general K/D ratios.

yes i miss the games won and played. other then that who cares bout leaderboards? cheaters ruined the competitive nature of leaderboards in halo 2 so you couldnt really see who the best was. I like it the way it is i just miss the win/loss ratio :)

OK maby having a leaderboard is a bit on the retarded side BUT it still could be on anyway but maby only having anywhere from 100-1000 top players and bungie could still keep track of modders and people with a bad rep (if it even matters) because people with a bad rep have to have it for somthing ya know. But I'm not accepting the fact that H3 needs a leader board or anything but could still be used somway other than cheating and besides why bother screwen up the leaderboard anyway all it does is PPO and give them a retarded satisfaction if any.(PPO = Piss People Off)

We had a leaderboard back in the days of early Halo 2. During those times, it was safe to say that 90% of them were illigitimately gained.

Just say no to leaderboards.

Exactly, if you ask me it promotes cheating.

Best Song ever: You Cant Quit Me Baby by Queens of the Stone Age

Also Guns and Roses are the biggest load of pish-posh ever

which is why you cant view your levels on Bungie.net. Promotes cheating.

Look at the #1 in the world (Z6e9mi2T). He is a cheater. In his recent games he has only ever played against the same person (I AM STANDBYING), and every game lasts for less than 10 seconds.
The #2, 3, 4, 5 and so on are no doubt cheaters as well.

This is why leaderboards don't work. You could never accurately work out what rank you were.

Also, Bungie, please use sites like halo3leaderboards.com to find these cheaters and ban them.

There is a group for that stuff right here

And a leaderboard here.

I think it's more about challenging each other and seeing what can be done with the MetaGame/Campaign then it is about being the biggest winner.
You can at least check some base scores and see how you stack up so far.

i totaly agree cheaters suck and should not be allowed on if found, wat u need is a system to find them u could use the leader boards

  • 11.02.2007 12:59 PM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

Try StatsReloaded.com. They track all that crap, and even the worst players of all time. Their updating system is strange, and I think there's a few bugs that need fixing, but whatever. Better than nothing.

How does that promote cheating? You can see your levels in-game, so how is that any different than viewing them here? I can see my medals on Bungie.net, but not in game. They must have done because it promotes cheating.

  • 11.02.2007 1:11 PM PDT

I have a ragey problem with cheaters myself, but I'm pretty sure that you can't cheat A.I on the campaign side of things.
Any and All leaderboards have folks working to keep them legit, but pushing the boundries is still fun too.

How does that promote cheating?

Because people want to see their name on top of the "official" leaderboard. The H2 leaderboards were just depressing.

  • 11.02.2007 1:32 PM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

I wasn't talking about leaderboards. I was talking about viewing levels on B.net, like in your profile.

Context ftw.

Global leaderboards are deliberately omitted - they aren't really relevant given our incredibly high population.

Yeah there are waaaay to many Halo players, not to mention the fact that there are so many 50s to begin with it isn't as exclusive as one might think.
