Which processor should I get.

I didn't build it yet...not sure about fans...I was just going to rely on my power supply fan...probably a 350-400 watt power supply.

and I have an XBOX...

use your xbox and not your computer to play halo 2..... computers are to much of a struggle. i have a 1998 gateway with windows 98. it also has speakers, and and i have a printer that prints stuff. And it has a 184958473748758574763.6 modulator quadrolateral system x that processes the tuberculosis of the cubicle algorithimal system.

If you get a Pentium 4 or an Athlon 64, I think you should get at least a 450 watt power supply at least, 500 watt would be best. As for fans, it depends on how many fans your case can hold.

ok, do you know what a heat sync is?
no fans= bad idea. your processer will overheat, become really anoying, and then blow up.
it you're gonna put one fan in(not including power suply fan), go with intel. they're processers are more reliable. if your gonna put two or more, put in AMD. they are great for overclocking

Heyyo,

Athlon buddy, Pentiums tend to be overpriced per preformance. Here's the pros of both processors in basic:

AMD best for gaming

Intel best for work

You decide what you'll do more of, and more likely use...

don't forget, both use different motherboards and sockets, so make sure for the processor you use you get a mobo with a matching cpu socket....

Time to go offtopic....
Lolz, "gangsta", just by reading his name you can see he's a n00b, and deserves to be onna xbox with autoaim bull-blam!-. :)

You go play xbox, and "chill with the homies", lol, ya white wannabe. Sry for any black-culture-philes out there, I just get a kick outta white n00bs trying to be black gangstas when the black dudes would really just wanna beat him down for making them look bad.

I remember seeing this white trash website where they were pretendin' to be black, lol, omgz, I laughed sooo hard, one pics like "here's us homeboys leapin' the fence, and avoidin' the feds yo..." yeah, they lept the fence while the camera man was taken to jail by the cops right? uh huh...

Agreed about that xbox noob... go home... lol.

Anyways get an Athlon 64. They're awesome, AND they're sort of future proof since they're 64-bit. Make sure your motherboard supports it though... socket 754 is cheaper but 939 MIGHT be better ( I'm not sure).

Heyyo,

From what I've read, socket 939's the future for 64-bit processors. Think aboot it, much more pins = much more information can be processed in a cycle. The difference in loading times n' such? dunno, but just by common sense it's obvious that socket 939's better.

just google some socket benchmarks, I'm sure you'd get some proof of this concept.
