Last night (yes, i got it early) i started Halo 3 on Casual (Easy), i got to the middlish of the first level, then decided i fancied some CoD4 BETA. I then came back onto Halo 3 about an hour later, and finished the first level. This is when i realised i was getting no achievements (yes, im greedy), so, i quit, and went to the main menu to restart, but, there is no option to do this, or at least, i couldn't see one.

So, i went to my Hard Drive and deleted my game save. I then went back onto Halo 3 to restart, i go to ''Start new solo campaign'' The loading screen appears, stays on for about 20-30 seconds, then i get error messages; ''Game failed to start'', it then puts me over to the campaign screen. It then tries to load agains; it goes 0%, 20%, 0%, 20%, then another message appears; ''players failed to load content'', it's done this over 20 times now, I CANNOT RESTART THE GAME FROM THE BEGINNING!!!!!

It's not just doing this with my main GT, i swapped hard drives and tried my secondary account, and, the same thing happens. I've unplugged my ethernet cable, same thing, i've turned the xbox off and on again, and yep, same thing.

I took the disc out to give it a quick clean, thinking dirt could be the problem, and it's a clean as a preachers sheets, no marks or scratches.

What has happened?? the game was working absoloutley fine until i deleted my game save. Does this mean i am officialy the first person in the world, who's Halo 3 disc stops working after only 1+ hours of play, or, does this mean there is a problem with the actual game itself??

I must say disapointed is not the right word to use. Fair enough, im not exactly the biggest Halo fan in the world, i stopped Halo 2 after an 20 minutes due to sheer boredom, and that is the true reason why i stopped Halo 3 and went on CoD4. But, i would like the opportunity to ''finish the fight'' for myself, and not have someone else start bragging about how good/bad the ending is before i see it for myself.

Anyway, has anyone else had this problem??

Cheers,

TCC Satanic

Yep loads of us TCC. Have a look around these parts, and on Google. You'll see just how many.

I had the same exact problem TCC. I tried everything. Restarting the Xbox, cleaning the disc, doing the Hard-drive maintence thing, switching to a different Gamertag, removing the hardrive and nothing worked. Finally after about an hour of trying to fix it, I got it to work. I manually signed out by going to the Xbox Guide and pressing X. Then I signed back in and it worked like there was no problem? I'm not sure if this works for everyone so let me know if it does or doesn't work for you.

I have precisely this problem; I'm trying to load "The Ark" on Heroic, and it crawls up to 20% loaded and then gives up.
I tried clearing the cache (play 3 other 360 games), cleaning the disc, cleaning the lens... no joy.
I'll try the signing out/in trick someone mentioned, see how I go with that.

not happy :(

Did that to me for Halo 2.

By the way, if you wanna restart go into the campaign lobby and put it on local network. I always found deleting stuff from the hard drive to be very dangerous (a haxxor might steal me memories!)
