Hey, I would like to know why there is no 1280x1024 resolution in halo 3. There has been numberous of posts on the forums asking this and it hasnt been adressed at all. I bought the VGA cable with specificaly for halo 3 and its exzactly like halo 2 with its vertical stretching. Will this be fixed with a ptch in the next coming weeks like Gears of War did? I want to see the best graphics as possible for halo 3 because it has hundreds of thousands of people playing and i know most of them would like to be able to see the great graphics.

How come when u play 2-4 players in the same xbox the screen is cut? Is it because of the 640 crap? and what about the jaggies too?

pay attention!

When you split a 16:9 screen in half you get two 32:9 pictures. Anyone who played halo 2 can tell you the FOV is too wide, and you also can't see someone trying to get the jump on you from above. Equally so, the side to side ratio would be 8:9, taller than it is wide, meaning the FOV isn't wide enough to see to your sides....by squeezing the viewport into a more aestetically pleasing ratio, it actually improves the gaming experience. You aren't losing anything here, believe me. It has nothing to do with 640p or the frame rate or anything technical. Bungie was giving us the best FOV possible by doing this.

Just like Bioshock, people create drama where there is none, because they just don't understand.

Halo 3 is great....im just wondering how all of the multiplayer maps have so many jaggies? Is bungie aware of this?

Excuses, excuses, is what we get. Heck I can take a 16p image and use edge detection along with Gaussian smoothing and you won't see any jagged edges. But guess what. The image will clearly be missing a considerable amount of the lower spatial frequencies, people are prone to noticing more quickly!

Frankie, thanks for explaining the 640p thing. It's what we all wanted at it's cool you owned up to it. Having HDR as well-used as it is in Halo 3 is MUUUUCH greater than the extra 80p IMO. Bungie retains its reputation is the best fan-centered developer on the planet. We -blam!- with questions and you guys answer them honestly. Thanks.

Not really when they have been ignoring all the DREs in spite of being over a thousand posts on 2 different forums (bungie's and xbox's)

I am surprised to see there was no acknowledgment of the 300+ list (that continues to grow rapidly) of gamers who are experiencing DRE errors and failing consoles since the release of Halo 3. I mean, one of the posts is running in the Bungie Forums...

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=13193500

The other big one is in the Xbox.com forum...

http://forums.xbox.com/1/15818654/ShowPost.aspx#15818654

Team Xbox has picked it up...

http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/14663/Halo-3-Disc-Read-Error-Dr iving-Gamers-Mad-UPDATED-/

There is also a Digg on it...

http://digg.com/gaming_news/Listen_Up_Bungie_And_Microsoft_St andard_Halo_3_discs_faulty_too

Neither Microsoft nor Bungie has even acknowledged any of this yet. As a loyal customer, this is extremely frustrating. This is the most anticipated game since the release of the Xbox 360 yet many of us STILL cannot play this game.

Nobody is trying to point the finger, we just want to be able to play a game that so many of us have been waiting so patiently for. The list continues to grow, we have been patient and, as faithful customers, we deserve a fix for this.

The post before mine is very sensible and you should look into it. All we are asking is for you to tell us you are aware of the problem and are trying to fix it. Not just ignoring the situation. Hopefully i can play Halo sooon.

Well, if I see them I will probably ask them very annoying and prodding questions. Like "How does that feel? You dead! FOOTBALL!"

So, for those of us using CRT monitors where the scaling artefacts are quite obvious, unlike a fixed pixel display which is probably doing some scaling already, is there a chance of having the option to disable the scaler added somehow? (or an 1152x640 resolution added to the dash, which would essentially be the same thing)

Bungie: WTFXUP?

Why no mention of our DREs? WHY are you ignoring us? You guys are burning the bridge.

Shouldn't there be some mention of the scratching limited edition cases which were sent out? Perhaps the two week repair wait? I love halo but that blunder really was annoying.

This has been addressed in the launch week FAQ. As far as we know, the Microsoft team is sending out replacement discs for anyone who received a damaged one initially. Instructions and details can be found at Xbox.com. We realize this has been an issue for some of you but unfortunately there's nothing that we (Bungie) can personally do. However, the fine folks on the MGS support team are doing their best to help everyone out as fast as they can.

Hey how about a statement on all the disc read errors everyone is getting their is a forum post both here and at xbox.com about this issue more than 300 hundred people have this problem even kotaku.com and teamxbox.com reported on this issue I cant believe you didn't mention this in your weekly update
