I liked all of them, but I'd have to say Fall of Reach and First Strike are the best ones for sure, I'm currently reading The Fall of Reach again just for fun

Nylund really did a kick-ass job on FoR, and First Strike wasn't that bad, what with all the plot twists and such. I've read each one at least twice, if not three times.

If anyone in this thread really likes to explore the Books and the Game storyline, what with all the mystery and theories that Bungie has blown open for us, Check out applying for membership in my Chapter: ToaGT.

I really liked them all but when i was reading first stike i was always wondering what was going to happen next because I had no idea what was going to happen next! The Fall of Reach I sort of had an idea from things I heard in these forums, and it was an excelent read, but i still liked First Strike better. And The Flood I liked, It wasn't my favorite, probably falls in last of the 3, but thats not to say that it was bad, it's just that it's just the game, but being written about, but I really enjoyed the parts that weren't in the book, like the parts about the marines and such.

Yeah, Nylund's book were easily the best. Though i suppose that that might be because dietz was writing abuot something i've already played through goodness knows how many times.

I THINK FIRST STRIKE IS THE BEST BECAUSE IT'S THE PREQUEL TO HALO2! IT ALSO HAD ALOT OF "MEANING."

Personally I think it's lame that you guys are reading fan-fiction based on a videogame..get a life..or go play some Halo. I mean, you could be playing the game..but instead you chose to read it??

At least we are reading, even though it is about a video game.

They are actually very well written novels regardless of the fact that they are based on Halo; They're intriguing and have good details that fluctuate and make you say "wow" outloud. Not many novels can do that in this day and age. Anyway, not our fault we decide to read. Also it's not fan-fiction because it wasn't written by fans, it was paid to be written by Bungie themselves.

My vote goes thus far to Halo: First Strike due to the underlying themes and the twists that make you shout out.

Last time I heard anyone from Bungie mention the books they made it very clear that they were in no way affiliated with the books, much less supply storyline material.

for some reason, the other dude who made The flood seemed like his book sucked balls compared to Nylunds. Oh well, just hope there are more in the works!!
