I think a Halo movie would score awesome. If they just had the right people to make it. Halo could be as good as Lord Of The Rings. Halo is a great story. It would be awesome to watch a Halo movie at the cinema. What do you guys say?
You Bungie-staff got any coments about this?

Red vs Blue should do a Halo movie, or bungie should do a serious version. A movie off the Doom series would be really kool too

I was wondering, and it would be really sweet, if there were any plans for a halo movie. A Halo movie would be really kick@ss. It could fill in the way all the other spartans died and how the Master Chief got that nickname. It could also fill in what happened between the two games, like how he got his new armor and stuff like that. I think even the video of Halo
2 is great, with the gameplay and the cinematics combined. And wether it would be fully computer generated or not. And what I feel is that it would be a good marketing decision because of all of the Halo fans already who would almost surely go see it in theaters, but thats just me. I would love to know if and when and also your own thoughts about this idea. Please Reply.

Webmaster-

I think a movie would be cool. I've been DYING to know how "Master Chief" got that wacky nickname. But there's a danger too. What if Jones and the fellows did a "George Lucas" and started reinventing their universe because they didn't like it anymore?

Just think, what if it turned out Master Chief wasn't a Spartan? Because Spartans are too violent! In this Halo re-imagining, Master Chief would be a thoughtful environmentalist, on a quest to save a rare and fragile orchid from extinction – through non-violent political means. Instead of being called Halo: The Movie, it would be called, FlowerBoy: A Horticultural Hero.

And if Hollywood got a hold of it, they'd Hollywoodify it! By casting a teen heartthrob! Freddie Prinze Jnr.! As Master Chief! That way you can secure the lucrative Cootie demographic. And since Prinze is such a dreamboat Jnr., the Chief's helmet would have a huge, open, peekaboo faceplate so you can see how pretty Prinze is!

And a movie with no love interest is no movie at all. I suggest Kathy Bates as Cortana, older, wiser, more mature and perhaps more skilled in the ways of intergalactic love. Kind of a Mrs. Robinson thing.

And the soundtrack! Tunes from the hippest teen bands, with the title song, "Get Yo Flower On" by Beyonce, featuring Jay Z.

Thanks Webmonkey for clearing that up with us.

It would be great if they made a movie but it better be from the books and not screwed up like the Harry Potter movies.

A Halo movie would be awesome, but I think Bungie should concentrate more on games than movies. Video games are simply much better than movies.

A Halo Movie would kick ass as much as a game. If they had the right director.

this has been discussed before... and it was ultimately decided that the only logical source material for the Halo movie would be "Marry Poppins."

Bungie agreed, but they want to change a couple of the songs. They are currently casting on both coasts.

i'm surprised you guys missed this news.

The movie would be good if they got a nice budget good actors and based it off the books. Otherwise can anyone say Starship troopers 2.

Master Chief is a Navy rank (the highest enlisted eank they have). Since the Spartans are under the command of the UNSC (much like our SEALS are under Navy command in real life) they get the appropriate ranks.

Now, to put an end to all your dreams about a Halo movie, I will post this little bit of information. First, Bungie would have to sell the rights to the Halo story away to some movie company which would then take the story and twist it to fit into some movie atmosphere. Then they would pass it to a director, who would then destroy the story by placing what he wants in it. The producers of it would also change it to how they see fit, not understanding how the Halo universe works. By this time, Bungie and Microsoft have no say in how the movie it to be made. The movie is then made, it fails, and yet another great game falls into hell.

For those who say Bungie should pick the director, or make it themselves, read the production notes on Shrek, and see how long that took. Bungie is not a movie studio, they don't have the money, or the resources to do something like that. Also, to say Halo could ever be on par with Lord of the Rings is just silly and foolish. The Lord of the Rings, story is about thirty or forty times more detailed than Halo, and the director of that movie was a total, utter, lord of the rings fanatic. Even so, he changes some things, some very noticable things, like Elves at Helm's Deep.

No, he is a Master Chief, it's a naval rank, somewhere equal to a staff sergent in the army.
