Let's discuss the GameInformer article! There's a lot of cool stuff to talk about just from looking at the screens, and I know we're not supposed to post scans, but we are allowed to discuss them, so let's get to it!

Discussion is fine. Posting scans or the text of the article itself is the problem, and even the text isn't as big a deal as scans.

It's a published piece of info on Halo 2, feel free to talk about it as you please. =)

Good. First wow, those levels. Look. Great. Also looks like there are some markings of some sort on the writs and legs. The parts that look blue in the screen we got the other day. Rank markings? Team markings? don't know. But it is something. We also get a much better look of things with these screens. They are not so compact, and the movement animations look awesome from what i can tell. Especially in the picture that the ghost is in the fore-front of. In the background you can see a MC with dual weapons, that is the animation i'm talking about. Very promising. I would, however, like to read the article along with it

I figured as much....just didn't want to make more work for you guys :-P

Since we're allowed to, how bout them screens? For those of you who haven't seen them, they are AMAZING. Just about every one has upwards of 5 chiefs running around. The levels look enormous to the max. And I'd say that the blue stripes on the arms and legs are indeed customization, as each of the chiefs in these pics have a unique color scheme. There is even a lime green one, heh. Also, many of the pics look as if they may be playing in low-gravity, shown by 15ft jumps. The duel-wielding animation is gonna be amazing...it shows a guy with dual SMG's and it's gorgeous. There's more, but I can't stop looking and reading long enough to post them, so anyone else with the mag share your thoughts.

No....that's the whole thing, they don't want the pics posted because GI payed for them to be exclusive for the month their mag is out.

The Waterworks pic looks incredible!
The quality level of map design, compared to Halo's mp maps, is exponential judging from these scans. The WW pic looks like a campaign level, and that's what I always wanted in Halo - to be able to play small portions of the campaign maps in mp.

Well all I can say is that there not very exclusive anymore, they have been posted on alot of sites now.

That WW pic looks amazing, the level is huge, it reminds me of G************* from Halo PC (I can't spell the name of that level)

That level looks intense... I'm definitely looking forward to the level...

I wounder if those are pits that you can die in in Halo 2 ... =D Also, I wonder if the sheild plates of the turret will protect you this time around (meaning you have to hit the player using the turret, not the turret itself to do damage)

I would have to say that the lighting looks absolutaly AMAZING. Also the grandade and gun fire look sweet too. The MC looks great too. And the ghost looks tight, and the banshee looks tight too especially when it blows up! Well I am going to go drool some more peace.

Perhaps it may be the case that I am looking at low-quality scans (I've seen two seperate versions of them from the magazine), but I am personally underwhelmed by those shots. The level detail looks like it is higher than that of the first Halo's, but looking at the images, they just aren't as amazing as the official screenshots Bungie has released publicly on the Internet before.

Again, it may be that the scans themselves are too muddy to tell, but the textures seem kind of flat, and not sharp at all.

Is linking to scans allows on this forum? If anyone has links to sharp scans those would be much appreciated.

No, you can't post any links to scans or the article itself. Please let the magazine be and wait until you can post them... It would be unfair to GameInformer to post them before the magazine is actually released. How would you like to have a world exclusive and have some internet geeks release your special on the Internet before having the chance to show it themselves?

I think we can definitely say there will be more than 2 teams in MP matches in Halo 2. Everyone had to see the two yellow guys, the pink, and the green guy, there was also a few guys in the background that could have been red or something. I think that more than just two teams would be really cool. Imagine... Xbox lan party, you and 15 of your friends, four xboxs', and one team per xbox! Wowee! that would be fun. What do you think?

I agree that would be sweet but how would ctf work? Would you have to get both flags and return them to your base to score.

Also i wonder how many people did see the screens? I guess not many beacuse we are the only ones talking about it.

My only concern is how is bungie going to fit it all one one disk with good framerate LOL.

Also the screens I saw were in good quality (more or less).

It defenitly does look like alot of the levels, or atleast some are in lower gravity settings, or atleast that's what I figure judging by the height of some of the MC's.

As far as I can tell there are more than 3 different team colours available.

The Levels look amazing. Some of the design that has gone into these look amazing. I am looking forward to checking out a couple of these maps.

A little thing that no one seems to have pointed out is that on the first page in the mag where it says HALO really large, very small on the top left it says... "4-PLAYER ACTION (UP TO 16 PLAYER VIA XBOX LIVE OR SYSTEM LINK)"

Let me repeat "UP TO 16 PLAYER VIA XBOX LIVE"

That settles that.

With all of the Spartans different colors like green and pink, why does that mean there will be more than 4 teams... I mean that would be cool if that is what it meant, but so far, I'm just gonna assume that they're playing a non-team game of Slayer, and those are just the choosable colors.

Actually, to me, in the picture with the lime green, purple, and tan/yellow spartans, it looks like the green and purple are playing together... So its like its green and purple vs. tan and maybe someone else... and the colors distinguish that you are on a separate XBOX... But thats all speculation.

In one picture, the sniper rifle has little tripod looking things at the front of it (there are only 2, not 3, so i geuss its a bipod)... Anyway, I wonder if you'll be more acurate if you squat, or maybe you can lay on the ground... I don't know if I'd like that, I want unrealistic accuracy while I'm jumping up and down.

Okay.... Thats all I've got for now.

good job seeing the 16 player thing i missed that but they will definitally have the accuracy the way it was beacuse it wouldn't be halo without it. And ur right laying on the ground would just be stupid and i think they are only going to use the crouch for cover behind things. I don't know what to tell you about the colors though, except personally i think they look sweet as heck!

Yeah, I have no idea what to really make of team games in H2.

Maybe the sniper rifle will normally function like it use to, except when you crouch/lay you can zoom in 15X or 20X....

16 players is more than enough, but 32 players would but be sweet tough. The Xbox Live network doesnt support more than 16 players, does it?
Another cool thing to notice is in the first picture, the banshee exploding, the wing are cracked of and blown away, Cooooooooooool. Think about it, metal wheels, wings all kinds of stuff flying around when you decide to blow something up :) .Bungie, thank you, you guys are genius!

You can talk about the article, just don't post any links to the magazine scans.
