My Idea is a moon hangar and a covenant ship in orbit around the moon. Depending on your species, you will start in a hangar with three vehicles of each type of each species. For Example, if your a spartan, you get three longswords, three pelicans and three of some other vehicle that can fly. If your an elite, then you get three seraphs, three banshees and three covie dropships. In addition, if you drive one of the dropships, you can load other players into your plane and unload them into space(EDIT: the players can fight one another and potentially board stranded vehicles). Any ways, the premise is that you have to gain air (space?) superiority over a certain area of the moon(EDIT2: By either planes or player shooting them dowwn from the surface or in orbit, a rocket blast could take out some stuff).

Oh, new idea! In the books, it says "assasination have occured as of late (with in covenant hiearchy)" What if your an elite competeing with a bunch of other elites to become the commander, to do this, you must knock off all your opponents. Then after you do that, they all respawn and it is a race to kill a prophet at the end of the map because he has learned of your misdeads, so its a fragfest mixed with race, and more fragfests along the way because there are a limited # of vehcles, so people kill to get them. The map would be a gigantic covie base with a few levels, with teleporters. The weapons would be all covenant, including plasma sword . There would be a gigantic covenant forcefield, so you could not leave until you killed everyone. The game would give the winner 10 seconds to flee the base before everyone appeared. After the force field deactivated, it would open up to a huge area with a nav marker at the end, showing where the prophet would be. As for the vehicles, Ghosts, banshees,wraiths, and Phantoms.Throw in your wo cents.

My idea is to redo boarding action the right way. Key differences:

1 The ships themselves are pilotable vehicles with operable defenses, etc.
2 you have pseudo-fighters (or maybe pelicans) to board the other ship
3 The hulls begin completely intact but are entirely destructable-you make your own entrance
4 There are side objectives including: switching on a (tele)portal, destroying the bridge, taking out the engines room, shields, weapons, etc.
5 The interior of the ships are suitably complex
6 Low gravity effects may occur in breeched sections.
7 The main objective is, of course, the flag

Ive decided to post some of my old ideas that got me in 2nd thx to the time and damn neo i will kill him one day so.....

CTF match. 2 bases with tunnels leadin to each base. Top side of the tunnels is just a baren waste land. But in the tunnels are several more tunnels causin some confusion maybe gettin them lost.Havin traps in the tunnels. A banshee in each base to use over the world. 10vs10. On top of the bases will be several rocket launchers to destroy the vehicles. Note vehicles will be topside in front of each base. 2 warthogs a ghost and 1 tank. One big entrance on each base gaurded by turrets and sniper rifles. Inside each base several pillars(kinda like the matrix) Flag near the back of the base

ok 2 bases on each side. Trenches infront of each base. bridges leading across. 3 floors in each base. 1st floor contains vehicles. 2nd floor has weapons. 3rd floor has the flag. On teh outside int he mid of the map has a long path with no cover more for the vehicles. to the left side several destroyed vehicles with blown up buildings to hide in. on the right side near each base are gun turrets surrounded by many defensable positions. in the mid of the right side are secret tunnels leadin to special entrances to the bases. In one tunnel has a Banshee with a roof that opens up. kinda like the end of the silent cartographer map. Several bunkers down the left side. One large turret near each base at the middle

Its not a normal map its more of a rescue mission based on the "Truth and Reconciliation" map where u save Keyes. Starts off in a dropship for the spartans they must rescue several marines from a covenant strong post. 3 ways into the base all gaurded by turrets. Warthogs will start to appear once checkpoint one is reached. then the next will be a large open feild with enemy banshees tryin to kick your ass. Get to the far side to a tunnel(for some reason i love tunnels) this part is a destroyed city with several destroyed vehicles. Rocket Launchers are key weapons here. Once past that they must hold a certain part for a certain amount of time then they get a point. A series of checkpoints will move ur spawn closer to the end. You have a certain amount of time to do this

I like the space combat stuff neo. I think that is one place where Halo 2 could do some major innovating. Halo changed fps forever with the innnovation of vehicles. What if H2 innovated with space vehicles? -sick...

Here's a sick idea... H2 supports more than 2 teams. Why not flag levels for 4 teams?- That would be insane.

ok your in ancient rome, i mean you got the beat down colloseum, palaces, the slums, the works.the cite is surrounded by a massive wall so its impossible to get over. the bases are on each corner of the city, this means the flags will be north and south, while you are east and west, yes this means you have to run to your falg to protect it sort of like a race at the beggining. there are underground sewer tunnels to the basement of each base, but its like a maze down there and easy to get lost. in the center of the city is a big palace, sence its in the center its a great sniping place. all the buildings and river bridges are destructable. there are about 15 tall towers around the palace. all the towers are connected to eachother by old rickety wooden brigdes which are affected by wind spead, so you may get nocked off. all the towers lead to the roofs of the bases and the palace. the houses and buildings can be destroyed to your advantage or disadvantage. so you can blow objets infront up the enemies base doors to make it hard for them to get out. the wooden bridges can also be destroyed, so if some one is on it can can make them fall to there doom. if you lucky with the explosives, you may blow a whole threw the groud to the underground tunnels.each base has three levels but the fourth one reaches all the way to the top but it doesnt count as a floor cuz its only 5 feet wide. the palace has no floors, only stairs to the top of it and a ladder to the roof. thats it

Big city, a million players, and you can make friends with people, create gangs/armies and take lots of vehicles around the city to fight the other factions. No flags team deathmatch except you make the teams whilst the games going on.

My idea kicks all your ideas clear across the room. Here we go. The overall shape is an enclosed arena, roughly the size of half of sidewinder, only the roof is about half as big again as the cliff walls (in sidewinder). The roof and the floor are curved, like a big bowl. The entire level is as dark as night (not much light), which gives it the added effect.
There is a wide ledge halfway up the side of the walls that goes around the entire outside, and it is wide enough that you can joyride a warthog with ease. In the very center is a giant pillar that reaches up almost to the ceiling. Inside the pillar there is a few rooms and passageways (nothing too extravagant), but they are a key factor in level control because the pillar looks over the entire level and is the most strategic location is the entire map. The passages also lead to the roof, which is where the banshees are kept, and you can lob grenades at anyplace on the map from up there. There are eight bridges that are spaced symmetrically around the outside ledge, leading toward the central pillar. The bridges are wide enough to allow a tank and a bit on them. They is a gap in the bridges just before you get to the pillar, which is crossed via a light bridge (control panels on each side).
On the roof there are catwalks that let you look over the entire level. They are excellent for sniping, but have very little cover from counter sniping. On the floor there are narrow staircases up the walls (covered), as well as a screw-type ramp up around the pillar for downed vehicles.
This map has two bases which are at ledge level on opposite ends of the map, they your typical bases-not very complex, but serve their purpose well. They are strong points, but the pillar is easily the best location to hold.
This level is the best place for all kinds of people: hardcore, rookies, snipers, vehicle lovers, and those who just want to screw around and have fun.

This is a four player map:
It is a map with a base in the middle and it has four corners.
A grunt starts in one corner.
An elite starts in another corner
A jackal starts in another corner
and a hunter starts in the last one.
The elite gets a plasma rifle, the grunt gets a needler, the jackle gets a plasma pistol, and the hunter gets the fuel rod cannon.
They all have to run into the middle and....

Another one is a large circular level, like a crater. There are no bases, only a few rocks in places. The only weapons provided are rocket launchers, with alot of ammo. The whole point to this level is vehicles, they control the map. There are 16 of each type of vehicle, and they are randomly spaced around the map. You have fights with the vehicles, non of that sissy sniping and gun battles. This level is all about big guns and big explosions.
This level is prime for smash-up-derbies(?sp?). A smash-up is where you don't use guns or anyother form of weapon, only your vehicles themselves. You crash into each other until someone flips, and you run into him while he is on the ground.
