Foehammer's Death in HaloCE was more dramatic than Johnson's in Halo3

I seriously think this. I don't mind that Johnson died but my blaming god at least give him a good death. In the special edition DVD they talk about adding death to make your actions seem heroic, but that only works if the deaths are beliavable. I mean theres a difference between brave and retarded. Miranda Keyes going on suicide mission for apparently no reason at all is retarded. Captain Keyes going down with his ship then leading his men to the "weapons cache" is brave.

Likewise, Foehammer and the rest of Echo 419 were risking their lives to pick you up and those blamstard banshees shot them down. It was truely an epic moment in the game which felt real. Compare that with Johnsons death when he is killed by Sparky who apparently has magically aquired a death beam of sorts. -blam!-, why didnt he use that against the cheif in Halo CE I wonder?

Playing Halo 3 just made me realise how awesome Halo CE is.

If I had a Rocket Launcher...

Shut up and get behind me... Sir!

The cable. I'm going to cut it.

Awesomeness would ensue.

I'd have to say that Johnson's death was, for the lack of a better word, pitiful. Oh, sure, it got me fired up and ready to kick 343's ass, but come on now. Johnson is the pure definition of awesome, he deserved a better death than by Mr. Rampant Lightbulb.

I agree with the thread. The deaths in Halo 3 were needed to complete the feel, but the deaths in Halo CE felt much more real.

I totally agree. In Halo 1, you knew that we were in a war, and that everyone was risking their lives. Halo 2 and 3 didn't feel like that as much.

Pft, its a half a decade old game and I assume people who visit this forum have played through it before. Did you know Darth Vader is Luke Skywalkers father?

I have to agree as well. In all, I think the whole of Halo 3's story felt really rushed, despite what Bungie said about not being on a deadline like in Halo 2. Johnson's death was just plain criminal, although I give them extra points for having him save the Chief's ass at least.

At least we can all see more of him being the badass he is when Contact Harvest is released.

How is foehammer supposed to fight back if too shees drop in behind her? She cant exactly dive into the bridge or pull a backflip or something. With Foehammer there was real chance she could of got MC out of there. With Miranda it was like the most random goddamn thing. I didn't think it was "hearth wrenching" because I couldn't get over the fact of how incrediblely stupid Miranda is.

If Johnson had to give his life for the story of Halo 3, they should have at least had him go down with a shotgun in one hand and grenade in the other as he takes down a horde of aliens with him. The annoying light bulb lazer thing did not do him justice.

Actually, after I saw her get shot down the 1st time, I just kept driving every time after. I figured I'd save some time. I need to go back and see that again, 'cause I agree, it was epic.

Trailer Park Boys ~ One of the best Canadian made comedies ever.

I disagree.

Johnson's death was a big surprise since most people weren't expecting 343 to suddenly freak out and laser him. Before that, you and the "lightbulb" (such a good line by Johnson) were about to destroy the ark and Spark was helping you since you were the reclaimer.

When he became a casualty, it hit me like a ton of bricks and I figured I could save him when he gave me his Spartan Laser.

I personally laughed when Foehammer died, I felt she deserved it for having the stupidest motto ever. "We deliver." I stopped liking her the second I heard her say that.

If you don't at least force them to press A to skip then don't get bent out of shape when they ignore some little in-game cinematic.

And sorry, I never cared for Foehammer. She was of no real concern to me. When she died I wasn't like "NOOOOO, FOEHAMMER!!!"; It was more like, "$hit I gotta keep driven'."

Johnson's death, on the other hand pissed me off. For me it was like, "... ...That damn light bulb really just did shoot him... fuu&ers goin' down."
And while the fight was nonexistant the cutscene did get me worked up. Oh well, at least Johnson lived long enought give Spark a swift kick in the a$$.

But even still the H3 Trench Run at the end was better than CE's so it kinda makes up for that.
