Hi there,

InAmb3rClad here. I am having troubles finding people into the same kind of Halo 3 gaming that I am (Customs, Big Team Battle, etc.). So I went to go post in the Classifieds forum to try and find some people to add. During this process I noticed a few things that I sort of have an issue with.

I looked in the Classifieds forum and almost every thread created there had zero replies. I feel that this is because the forum doesn't get enough promotion. It's grouped into the "Other forums" category on the drop down "Community" menu. Thus, I think it's safe to say that many people overlook the forum. If it were more promoted, then I think it would greatly help people looking to find people that like playing the same way.

Some tips to improve the classifieds forum:
1) Rename it. The name "classifieds" is very drab and may prevent people from clicking through to the forum. I'm not very creative so I can't think of any good names, but I'm sure others could do so.
2) Put it on the drop down community menu. This will help it to get more attention and activity.
3) Create "official" threads in the forum for certain types of gaming requests. This could include a thread for customs gamers, a thread for big team battle gamers, a thread for social gamers, a thread for clan invites, and a thread for serious pro-like gamers. Creating "official" threads for each of these categories could minimize the clutter and encourage more activity and success in the forum.

That's about it. I hope you all (especially the forum ninjas) will listen to my suggestions and don't flame. A game with such a large community of players could use more easy tools to find friends.

Also, as a sort of side note, a custom games search feature would be very nice, high five.

Thanks for reading.

Chris

The reason most threads in the Classifieds have 0 replies is because it is against the rules to reply to threads there. The Classifieds exists purely to advertise your group/clan.

Well, that's news to me. I thought that the classifieds forum existed to help gamers hook up with other gamers. No replies allowed just doesn't really make sense to me.

Also, if you place an ad, why not take some time to see who else is looking for other people?

Alright, but wouldn't you think it'd be more efficient (for both the poster and the seeker) for there to be a centralized place on that forum for people looking for specific things (as I was mentioning in point #3). It's a lot easier to find a bunch of people into customs or BTB when they're all in one thread rather than scattered all throughout the forum hanging onto the hope that someone will see their thread.

I don't think you understand. You create a group for your purpose, in this case, for your Halo 3 gametypes. Then, you post and advert in the Classifieds explaining that your group is for people who want to play your gametypes.

Okay. I guess I didn't see the large banner at the top of it that said "Group promotion." I based my post on the fact that I looked into a few of the threads (or "adverts" as others call them)... rather than promoting such "groups" the threads made were more "Add me if you want to do this" style. Such posts will only yield a few successes.

But thanks for your time. Although I do not agree with how the forum is used, I will come to terms with it and look elsewhere for gamers like me.
