Hi

I run a Halo PC dedicated server, and I'm wondering how you put ASCII characters (alt + a number) in halo server names. I've seen it done by other servers, so I'm assuming someone here could tell me? For some reason it doesn't let me put them in the name. :(

Thanks!

EDIT: I've got another question. If you look at the multiplayer lobby, and order it by name, you get all these servers at the top that don't seem to fit with the alphabetical order. Can anyone tell me how they do this? I am also assuming this has something to do with ASCII.

I actually haven't tried doing Alt codes in the server name but I imagine whatever you type in quotes in the init file would be displayed.

I get this error: Server names must contain printable ASCII characters supported by the halo UI.

The funny thing is, I used the Ç that is used in BÇ server names to test it out! If it works for them shouldn't it work for me? Or are they doing something different?

EDIT: If it helps - to get Ç, you press alt + 128

Not all the alt codes work in the Halo UI. Try making a name with the char, if it displays in game it will probably work in the server name. If it doesn't your prob out of luck

I remember something about finding the savegame file and changing it in Explorer. I think New 420 said that.

If you go to My Games theres a Halo folder containing all of the profile information. If change the name, theoretically it change in game as well.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

You mean Extended ASCII.
