Heyyo,
Yeah, sometimes the old drivers makes windows crash, sometimes it doesn't, it's all aboot luck sometimes. ;)
Ahh, Madsam, the LE series stands for Limited Edition, by Limited, it means preformance-wise. I belive that's like, the lower-end versions of the FX5700 line, so that could be a cause. Now, does it run bad all the time, or just during fights? cause The FX series seems to handle the particle effects a bit better than the ATI cards... Usually it's that goddamn flashlight that kills the NV videocards. So turn off flashlights, put the PS to v1.4 by adding this to a halopc shortcut in the target line at the end: -use14
Ok, here's something to do madsam, create a haloPC shortcut, and add this to the target line:
-use14 -novideo -nogamepad -timedemo
That'll run a benchmark, post the results here. (I don't believe in turning off the sound during benchmarks, cause that makes them less accurate when trying to figure out how well the comp OVERALL preforms, turning off sound just benchmarks graphics and processing power... if you wanna turn off sound anywho, add this: -nosound )
that should give you a few frames back, with like, no visual quality loss. :)
