Dude.. you don't get Scout stuff for your gamerscore, its from certain achievements. One question down... thousands to go.

As a longstanding fan of all things Halo, I have only one problem with the latest instalment in the series. While Halo 3's art design is outstanding, the graphics seem to be a bit lacking on the technical side, i.e. Halo 3 unlike its predecessors, does not set the bar for visuals (technically) on the Xbox 360, unlike GoW or Bioshock. While Halo 3 can be excused on the basis that it has far larger environments, more characters on screen, and faster gameplay (and much greater freedom of motion) than Gears, anyone who has seen Unreal Tournament 3 will see that this excuse is no longer valid, as it will also feature similarily large environments, vehicle types etc., while sporting a higher player cap in MP and better graphics (quote CliffyB) than Gears of War.
I would like to know why Bungie is not able to match the level of visual fidelity achieved by Epic, even though the graphical style of Halo is very different to GoW and UT. Especially since Halo 2 looked better than the Unreal games on Xbox. It is disappointing to see Microsoft's flagship studio bettered by others on its 'home ground' (the 360) and their custom built engine, lacking (graphically) compared to the versatile, not as singularly focusd Unreal Engine 3 which runs on multiple platfoms and supports genres other than shooters.
Was this due to time constraints, did Saved Films limit the environmental detail, or do you simply lack (I hope not) the programming talent of the likes of Tim Sweeney?. Other than this Halo 3 is an amazing game, to which Gears of War pales in other aspects, but why couldn't it also be the graphical showcase of the 360's abilities that many were expecting?
PS: Do you know roughly how much of the 360's processing power Halo 3 is using, ie. how much untapped potential is left.
Your certainly asking a lot of long worded, and complicated questions. Personally, Halo 3 has the best graphics I have ever seen, and anything beyond that is pretty much unnecessary. Its like fully battle-dressing a monkey, and than someone goes and adds another set of gear on to it. As to your comparison question, hell if I know. Unreal Tournament 3 is bound to be a good game, and so is Gears, but those three games aren't the same thing. Don't ask for more of an explanation besides that, I've never been good for very detailed explanations. Finally, if you want to know why Bungie can't match the 'visual detail' of other games than just read this: Halo 3 isn't focused on one grand idea with they're graphics. Unreal isn't going to have options like Forge or Theater, they are more focused on one thing than a lot of things. Theres only so much a CD can handle. >.>
