Under halo 3's radar it says 25m. In halo 1's radar, it says 15m. Since Halo 1's radar was of a longer range, so what do these indicators mean? And why is halo 3's radar range so small? Someone on the edge of my radar can get to me in under 2 seconds!

A couple questions.

1.) What's the deal with when two people within melee death melee attack eachother at the same time, it seems to just randomly choose who gets the kill instead of both players dying?

2.) Why does Snowbound seem to be chosen for play in almost every game? It's made people so sick of it that it's always vetoed.

3.) Rewind would be nice. Why isn't it there?

4.) Faster fast forward would be helpful so the campaign missions an hour long dont take 30 minutes to fast forward to the point you want. Why is there only one speed?

5.) Why can't you record in campaign videos? You usually have just as many awesome moments in campaign as in multiplayer.

6.) Why is the split screen black barred?

7.) When are you coming out with more maps :P

Is there any chance that there will be an Iron CTF like in Halo. Just in case your not sure what it is its Capture the flag with tanks. I'm also curious if there could be an Iron Slayer or Aviation Slayer with airial vehicles like the Hornet.

What is with the lack of choice of weapons and vehicles in Forge and starting weapons in custom games (espescially in Valhalla, the main map of machinima?).

Best Halo game in the series by the way, dont let the minor things we complain about get you down!

Why did you decide to rename the sprees and multi-kills? (if the answer is "because we can", don't bother responding)

How much "polish" time, relatively, did you have with Halo 3 compared to previous games? Is this why the multiplayer is so well balanced?

Halo 3 was marketed far more aggressively than its predecessors and by extension, any other game, leading some reviewers to dock points for anything less than perfect. How has the studio responded to the thought of "Microsoft writing checks that Bungie was left to cash"? How much did Microsoft Marketing affect the development cycle?

Hey bungie thanks first of all for making the best game ever.

Here are my questions.

Q1. Why are there so many limits on forge in certain maps? (Gauss hog on Valhalla, carbine on guardian, flame thrower on sandtrap, etc etc) It would be cool if you let us customize even more with more choices. Not saying that you should be able to put a elephant on a small map, but if you have the choice of putting a hog on a map, why not make all the hogs available? And the same logic/availability with the guns.

Q2. I'm a guy who is old school. I still get together with my friends and have LAN halo 3 nights. (Which is why forge limits are so frustrating) Why on the one flag game setup did you take the option of unlimited rounds out? Because I play LAN games, we are not interested in time, some of my best memories are of 3 hour matches, but now the most I can do is 10 rounds. I know its small, but please let me choose to have unlimited rounds.

Thanks for taking the time to do this, you guys are really awesome.

P.S. the gameplay is perfect, those who say the melee is overpowered might be kinda right, but if you change it, please don't lessen it to much.

I'm asking these questions on behalf of HIH, and these are things we've all been wondering.

What is up with all of the barriers in Campaign? Granted, in some maps and specific areas we are finding ways past them, but still, it has really hindered exploration. Not only that, but it has basically wrecked launching, one of Halo's most basic aspects of tricking. We know the effects of Cowbell (yes, other than just the fact that it increases the launch force on vehicles you aren't in), and assume you wanted launching to take a Halo 1-ish turn, but even when we can launch an empty Warthog just about anywhere, it's still not the same when we can't be sitting inside of it while it rests on whichever structure we get it to.

Also, why have grenade pile mechanics been altered so much? Any melee or bullet shot blows them up, making them extremely hard to form a tight-knit pile, and yet explosions don't always activate them at the same time, making launching with them not worth the hassle. We're trying to find ways to work with what we have, but we miss that sense of classic Halo tricking the past games gave us.

I don't mean to complain, even though I kind of did... We absolutely adore the game, really, it's amazing, and we're finding new tricks and eggs left and right, but we want nothing more than that essential nostalgic Halo tricking feel.

One last question: Is there any secondary effects to certain skulls that we just aren't seeing that help with launching/tricking? Just a hint to keep us trying to figure it out?

Why is there still no fuel rod cannon, flame grenades, passenger warthog and any other of campaign stuff that is missing from multiplayer in multiplayer? I haven't had time to fully mess with forge yet but these things would be nice in the basic multiplayer maps.

Why are some weapons not allowed to be placed on certain maps in forge? i.e. the mauler on last resort. To my knowledge, it isn't on the map normally, does that have something to do with it?

Under Halo 3's radar it says "25m" what does this mean? In halo 1 there was a similar thing, but it said that it was 15m. I don't know this for a fact, but I am fairly confident when I say that halo 3 has a shorter radar range than halo 1. In halo 3, someone can get from off of my radar to me in under 2 seconds! So what does 25m mean?

How much money did it take you to produce halo 1 compared to halo 3? Because I am betting that the game you made 6 years ago cost a lot less and was a hell of a lot better than this steaming pile of mediocrity you have presented to us.

And on a much more critical note, why did you put lofted areas of the pit were you can spawn on but cannot reach? Did you learn nothing from Terminal on Halo 2? Do you -blam!-tards even play matchmaking? Why frustrate all of the players out there who are trying to flush out the campers in shotty snipers? Or maybe the better question is why did you even put such a horrible gametype on that map in the first place?

Is the same level experience present in halo 3 from halo 2? because it's really really easy to level up, and a whole lot easier in the upper +40 range

I realize that you have said countless of time that Halo 3 is the last in the series.
But will Halo be branching off into another game/will there be any sequels to The Halo series.

I watched the last cutscene after the credits and there is no way that you can end the game like that.
I would really like to see the Chief going to another planet.

Are you doing anything to stop the stand-byers on halo 3. It is happening again. Also when can we hope to see clans and clan matches? I was very shocked that this was not in there since it was one of the main reasons why Halo 2 had such long legs.

Just a few things:

1 - Why doesn't the guy say "TIED THE LEADER!!!" and "LOST THE LEAD!!!" anymore??

2 - Why is it that only 2 Gauss Warthogs are allowed on given maps in the FORGE when 4 LAAG Warthogs are allowed? We had a great custom game in H2 that we used 4 Gauss 'hogs and we miss it!!!

3 - Is there a 'clear map' button in the FORGE that I'm missing? I don't want to really go out and delete each and every weapon on there.

Great job on H3, my mid-life aged friends and I love it!

I did everything needed for the Marathon man achievement and I still don't have it. I hit right bumper to access the terminal, waited for it to turn red, and waited for it to say "//Fragment ends here" and started the level from the beginning and still no achievement. Why is this?

Why cant we have Halo 2 maps?
Why don't rockets lock on anymore?
Why isnt the sword range the same?
Why does over shield feel like you die faster with it then without?
Why cant you rewind in theater?
Why are there so many worthless and restricting barriers Campaign and Multi player?
Why are barriers even needed in campaign?
Why cant we do 8 people slayer, 1v7 Halo 2 style?
Why isnt there proximity chat in team slayer yet there is in multi-team?
Why cant we talk with 8 people on our team without d-pad, its annoying and lots of people dont even know about it?
Im sorry, but honestly the only question here is, why did you change EVERYTHING good about Halo itself?

I have a couple of quick questions. The thread has become quite long, so I hope that these have not already been asked (also, weapon balance is perfect, there's no real need to change anything)

1. is it possible to fix the new button combo that is being discussed on various boards? I really don't want to deal with BxR all over again.
2. is there a way to patch up the FFA achivements to make them work in team playlists? Some are quite hard to get with a 5 person limit - though I feel that the 5 person limit is GREAT for that playlist
3. is there a way to create floating, stationary platforms in forge?
4. is it possible for bungie to release new forge objects via download - namely, various shapes so that it's easier to make ramps, inclines, and the like?
5. how in the world can you use a flare without blinding yourself - other than dropping it down a hole? Is it possible to add a delay?
6. regarding equpment, did bungie ever consider having a "hold x" to throw equipment further?
7. are there any plans to "fix" the weapon selection settings in custom games/forge. Why can't "Carbine" be a starting weapon?
8. what is the "lower weapon" button combo in halo 3?
9. is there any way to assign overshields or camo to equipment so that you can activate it when you want instead of picking it up?
10. Is there anyway to make a bomb point/flag cap point attack to a moveable object so that it can move during a round (save for sandtrap?)

finally, did you guys mean to make me get all emotional and weepy when Cortana said "remember, there's two of us in here now"? cause, I did. Thanks for that.


seriously, thank you guys. I can belive how satisfied I am with this entire series as a full set.




edit: for the guys above me....

everything that was changed from H2 to H3, gameplay wise, is for the better. Every weapon is improved, as is overall balance. YOu just need to play for longer to adjust. If not, go back and play halo 2
