I know this is different from all the other questions people are asking, but here comes some story questions: how would detonating the new Installation 04 destroy all the Flood? I will grant you that there were no Flood left on Earth (it is unlikely that the Elites managed to get every single one, but oh well), but wasn't an entire Covenant fleet pretty much taken over by the time Halo 3 starts? Are you saying that ALL the virulent Flood in the galaxy were on High Charity? I will also grant you that the firing of Installation 04 destroyed all the Flood on it and the Ark, but not because of its primary firing mechanism (which only kills the Flood's food, not the Flood itself) but because the power surge would destroy Installation 04 and the Ark with a pedestrian, conventional explosion. However, the sentient-being killing ray of the Halo DID fire, which begs the question: how did MC survive? The implication I got was that the slipspace portal closed when the Forward Unto Dawn was halfway through, taking the Arbiter back to Earth but leaving MC behind, which means that MC got hit by the blast emanating from Installation 04 which is supposed to kill all sentient life. Also, how did the war just end with the destruction of the Flood? What about the rest of the Covenant scattered throughout the galaxy? What about the entire planet of Brutes just itching to get us back for what we did? Finally, what did Gravemind do to Cortana that made her send all sorts of weird messages, act as a mouthpiece for him at times, and give the impression that she has almost been inhabited by him and is at least stark raving mad, yet when MC gets to her and breaks her containment shield, she is all better? Sorry to be nitpicky - the gameplay is great and the muliplayer is fantastic, but I like my stories to be taut and watertight and this is far from it.
