So are the stats just slow and not lost? Yes or No answer and i'll be as happy as the chief with a spartan laser :)

They are saying that nothing is lost. I'll believe that when I see it.

My stats haven't been updated for some time either :(

  • 10.08.2007 11:42 AM PDT

I just hope the games are still being tracked and recorded behind the scenes, and that Bungie will be able to get those records online soon.

Are you saying no games will be lost - its just taking time? If you saying that in a completely unambigous way then fair enough. However the word 'dodge' comes to mind when your having a go at peoples idea of bungie - pretty clear after halo 2 i would have thought ;)

The stats processing is VERY slow right now, we're working on it. However, the system is designed to store the games until they can be processed. So, your data isn't being lost. You'll have to be patient, the current load is vastly more than even our most optimistic estimates, especially on weekends.

But we are working on it.

i posted this before...

yesterday I played 3 games.....they were posted within 5 minutes.........ALL the other games I played on the last part of the 4th, the 5th and the 6th never posted...

so If data recording was slow, my games from sun should not have shown up till next thurs.......and certainly not before the other 3 days of data, if in fact they really are all saved........

not to mention that no exp, highest rank, or anything else has posted....

So answer this question if you are all great and knowing of everything...What is the deal with page 27 of the Halo 3 booklet, where it states that Bungie.net is the leaderboard for Halo 3? When I think of leaderboard....I think of ALLTIME stats...like every other videogame has...not just stats from one previous game...it is time to stop short changing customers and to deliver on what has been advertised on the game packaging, in the game's instruction manual, and on various websites selling the game.

Calm down man! They are doing everything they say, it's just not showing up because EVERYONE loved the game so much that over 1,000,000 people play at once. That combined with a few small bugs (which Bungie keeps reminding us of, if you read back in this topic) presented an issue that overwhelmed their system. Your data is safe, it will be updated, and you need to stop saying they aren't living up to what they said they would. They handled the biggest entertainment release of all time without a hitch, and are now getting clogged up as they refine the process. Give them time to prove themselves, and in the meantime enjoy playing Halo 3!

I could enjoy playing Halo 3 more if my friend and I had some stats posted online to fuel our competition with eachother as it states in the game manual. Some people actually like competing with eachother...sort of a friendly rivalry, yes it is still a very fun experience...I love teabagging a friend, and then making a video clip and recommending it to them, but it is always better to be able to compare stats and truly see who is doing the best...Bungie realized this and set up a system so that we can all do this...however their system is flawed. Bottom line is this, Bungie should not make promises they can not keep. The excuse that there are too many stats to keep track right now is BS. Everyone that was not living under or rock knew that this game was going to have millions of gamers playing...hence over a million in game pre-sales.

I understand completely mate - I love to see my stats online too. But I also love Halo for Halo, and that I get to play it with my friends. If Bungie is saving the data all we need to do is be patient and let them work. If we keep spamming this place up we'll just pull them away from their desks and the problem will go on longer.

They're working hard on something that is bigger than anything ever in the history of entertainment - let's give them credit for what they've done and see how they go about the fix, eh?

Just posting here for accountability's sake. No career stats or medals since 10/4. Rank and XP ok, although i'm actually a 21 not 20 in lone wolves.

Thanks DVeditor, i read the response but some of the other mods gave different responses and i just wanted a Yes answer or No.

Fair play to them and the work they have done and i for one are very happy with halo 3, indeed its the best online game ive played since Quake 2. I commend them and their efforts, i just want a Yes or No answer or all of them saying the same thing before i play 6 hours striaght trying to knock my m8s stats to crap ;)

  • 10.08.2007 11:56 AM PDT

Suerly your stats CANT be lost as they're all saved on your actual Xbox. I wouldn't have thought it was so difficult to just upload it from there to the website when you login, I certainly wouldn't have expected it to take this long to sort out.

Half my matchmaking games from Saturday aren't recorded on my record. And neither were any of the Legendary games I played that day.

You'd be surprised what can and does go wrong with servers, networking, SAN's and anything related to database management and storage.

MILLIONS of players have data that needs to be sent to the database at bungie which I'm sure is on a LARGE Storage Area Network. I would recommend just being patient with them as they work to resolve this. As someone who works in I.T., having a problem AND having people breathing down my neck while I try to fix it doesn't make my job any easier. After all, this is a free service they're providing, and its not as if its the end of your lives if it doesn't get fixed right this second.

To quote myself from a different thread:

About the stat uploads. I was guessing it was server stress earlier, but when I uploaded a screenshot (successfuly) earlier, I found that two of my games from today also got updated on my bungie profile along with my rank, armor etc.

Not really asking a question, just wanted to point something out.

That's 2 games out of about 15 that I played on the day. I think the stats were from about 5 games before I uploaded the screenshot, which was a 1 v 4 Rocket Slayer session which was the last game I played but hasn't been updated on my stats.

Hopefully, if the Bungie staff see this, they may find it somewhat helpful (though I doubt it).

Never Let Her Go!

Stats seem wierd I know its not updating (no doubt cause of the stress on the servers) but today and yesterday when playing they slightly updated.
Now they aren't at all :(

I knpw people have written it all up how things aint working but here is pic evidence for Bungie reps.
My BNet Stats page Link
My Halo 3 In game Exp Pic Link

Similar thing happened when CnC3 came out for PC it took Westwood and EA 3 weeks to solve the problem :(
One hopes Bungie is alot better then EA... well I know they are I just hope its fixed soon :D

I have only lost 2 games in 2 days, i have played at least 20 games, meaning at the worst I went 18-2 over the last 2 days yet I have not ranked up 1 time, and my games are not showing up in bungie under my games played. I was wondering if anyone else is having the ranking system messed up for them

My games have not shown up for 5 days and im confused, because I should be at least a 40 in team slayer right now

If a moderator can tell me how to get in contact with someone, or can share some insight on whats going on it would be much appreciated

Its not fair to expect perfection from the people at bungie. Your game works and it isn't buggy. THAT is what you forked over $60-120 for (amongst some vid-docs and the like). You can get online. THAT is what you pay Microsoft for. Who do you pay to see your stats online? No one. Bungie doesn't make any money off of this website. All-in-all, its likely a money sink keeping it up and getting this stuff updated consistently. So when it breaks, you're not only unfairly angry that it broke in the first place, but you expect them to fix it instantly? Sorry, thats not how the world works. They'll fix it when they fix it. Its not like they can simply reboot their servers and it will all work again. They've apparently got some bottlenecks in data movement, some problems with data storage, and god knows what else. Be patient people. Its not like you can't play Halo 3 while you're waiting for them to fix it.

silence is golden..

It seems to me that I am not the only one with this problem.. Strange. Where's Cortana when you need her?

  • 10.08.2007 12:11 PM PDT

For the record. My stats have not updated recently. Last nights games that I played on 10/7/07 and the games I played on 10/5 are not showing either. There are a series of blank spots in the record as well. My rank is fine when I am playing on Live, but the rank shown on the service record is not correct. I tried signing in and out of my Passport account and that worked the other day, but it did not work today. Even when my rank and EXP updated the games list has not. As I stated above the list is sporadic. I have games shown that I have played after other games that are not showing. So some games show up and others do not. Here is a link to a friend of mines games, well one game that I did play in and other people played in, but it only shows him as having played. How could he get kills if he was the only one playing?

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo3.aspx?gameid=351305 66&player=Erntemaschine78

I played in this game as well as Friendly Fyre and Evolgenius.

I check two other people that played in this game and it does not show up in their record either.

The reason i care is i got a couple of good medals in these games and i would like to see them in my medals chest. Also my K/D ratio does not update when these games are not accounted for.

Bungie please fix this. If you can not do this i guess it wont matter 4,500 games from now, but it would be nice.

Thank you,

My profile says that I haven't played since October 4, but I have. I am missing a few multiplayer grades (I should be a gunnery now, but it does not show it.) and a lot of games. My unlocked acheivements are updated to today on Bnet but none of my stats are updated.

Tapping the top for good measure. In the game, I've got 91 XP, but the online record shows 69 and still shows the Lieutenant emblem. The last game listed is from two days ago, when I was a 20 in Lone Wolves, but I've played yesterday and today and am now a 31.

I wonder what's going on.
