So answer this question if you are all great and knowing of everything...What is the deal with page 27 of the Halo 3 booklet, where it states that Bungie.net is the leaderboard for Halo 3? When I think of leaderboard....I think of ALLTIME stats...like every other videogame has...not just stats from one previous game...it is time to stop short changing customers and to deliver on what has been advertised on the game packaging, in the game's instruction manual, and on various websites selling the game.
Calm down man! They are doing everything they say, it's just not showing up because EVERYONE loved the game so much that over 1,000,000 people play at once. That combined with a few small bugs (which Bungie keeps reminding us of, if you read back in this topic) presented an issue that overwhelmed their system. Your data is safe, it will be updated, and you need to stop saying they aren't living up to what they said they would. They handled the biggest entertainment release of all time without a hitch, and are now getting clogged up as they refine the process. Give them time to prove themselves, and in the meantime enjoy playing Halo 3!
I could enjoy playing Halo 3 more if my friend and I had some stats posted online to fuel our competition with eachother as it states in the game manual. Some people actually like competing with eachother...sort of a friendly rivalry, yes it is still a very fun experience...I love teabagging a friend, and then making a video clip and recommending it to them, but it is always better to be able to compare stats and truly see who is doing the best...Bungie realized this and set up a system so that we can all do this...however their system is flawed. Bottom line is this, Bungie should not make promises they can not keep. The excuse that there are too many stats to keep track right now is BS. Everyone that was not living under or rock knew that this game was going to have millions of gamers playing...hence over a million in game pre-sales.
Read prior quotes from Bungie staff, they clearly state that we exceeded even their most optimistic estimates, but on top of that they had several issues appear at once that compounded the backlog problem. The system is set up, there are bugs, but they will be fixed. The stat-tracking will be as advertised, it may take a period of time(I don't work there so i don't know how long it will be) before it works seamlessly but it will happen. Just have some patience, the game has almost been out two weeks. If this is still happening on a constant basis months from now you can say you aren't getting what was advertised. Until then, understand there are no certainties in this world, especially in an overly complex technical system such as the one designed to log the stats of millions of people.
