IntrepidMerc420, I don't know why in the world you're on fire about this, or why it's such an injustice that the stats aren't updated yet, or why you feel that none of us have any sort of experience in this field and are making false claims and invalid points. What I do know is what Bungie has told us: there's an issue, the data is safe, they're working on it. If you honestly can't go a few days without your scores updating and then posting in here about what a "big problem" is for Bungie, than I don't know what to tell you. Obviously it's a big issue, and obviously they're working on it as hard as they can, otherwise they would have posted a "sorry, no go" news update by now. Be patient, wait for info. Why waste time here saying how it isn't working?

After reading the weekly updates for over one year, I find it extremely hard to believe that Bungie didn't anticipate the amount of users taking advantage of their online services. In a perfect world yes everything would run smoothly, however it seems that only Intrepid and his leet magazine cronies are the only ones who live in this imaginary world. Bungie now works in conjunction (since the split) with one of the biggest corporations in the world that being Microsoft and I find it hard to believe that they would allow such a huge error to go unchecked without fixing it and getting us our lost stats. I have faith that the company can and will restore our missing information and do so in a somewhat timely manner because we have made them very rich nerds and they have in-turn made us very happy video game geeks.

And as for your little "industry blah blah garbage" and then calling for a mod because I insulted you and violated the ToS I say to you boo-frickin-hoo. You insulted the company that put out the game that you are playing and enjoying. Of course I am going to come to their defense when they have provided me with over six years of entertainment. What you are doing is taking cheap pot shots at them while they are down by mentioning all your big boy friends in the industry and how it's incomprehensable they there has been no official statement to the media as of yet. You sir are a troll, trying to incite some drama on a pretty much peaceful website against a company that has handled the single biggest entertainment release we have seen in well.... forever.
Working as a senior account analysist in charge of marketing and promotion (for a Fortune 50 company) I know exactly what it's like to handle releases, problems that arise and fixes that will follow. It's nothing easy, but I guess it's not nearly as hard as working in the industry you work in.

NONE of my stats or ranking have updated at all since October 1st! Major downer.

I've already spoken to representatives from Game Informer, GamePro and Fox News on the phone today...I have sources.

This will develop into a rather large news story...watch.

The journalists I spoke to couldn't BELIEVE that the corporation behind the product hasn't made an official (or un-official) statement on this.

Methinks you're taking this a bit TOO seriously. Relax man, it'll be ok...

As for the stats being gone...are they there when you boot up your Xbox and login? They are? Well then chances are, they still exist.

Methinks? I live in America. Never heard that phrase before.

Whether or not you think I should be relaxed, is irrelevant. I don't know why some of you think that's relevant to this...it's not. End of debate.

My pulse is calm, my breathing is calm...I haven't killed 10 people yet. So this garbage with "calm down" is just ignorance. You calm down...you seem totally out of control, foaming at the mouth yourself. Just relax. What do you care how upset someone is about something?

What stats on my Xbox360? What is wrong with some of you? Wake up!! The stats we're all referring to don't even show up on the 360. And don't give me "well, stat tracking is free". Every other game on earth tracks the stats IN GAME and you can view it ON YOUR 360. In an attempt to increase website traffic, bungie went a totally unprecedented direction with this and made their website the basis of 90% of the stats. So it needs to work. It was their decision and obviously, a dumb one. Look how reliable it turned out to be....didn't even make it a week and a half.

So this "are they still on your xbox" just shows a total lack of understanding of the problem. I mean really, have you even looked at a service record yet? All it shows you on your 360 is your rank and how many games you've played. That's it.

Methinks is old english. It means "It seems to me."

And I'm talking about when you turn on your Xbox, start Halo 3 and go to "Service Record." Despite not having updated on THIS site since Friday morning, my in-game service record continue to rack up XP, games played, etc. Which means that the data exists SOMEWHERE, which means that WHEN they get the postdata function fixed (a massive simplification of whatever they use to grab the data) that grabs all the data from wherever they keep it to wherever it needs to go, it will be available. Comprende?

"Methinks" you don't "comprende".

Where's the official statement from Bungie explaining what you did above?

Where's the proof that they've taken THAT stance here?

Where?

You're just speculating with optomism. You have no idea whether or not this will be resolved. Go away, you're not helping the thread.

The biggest issue is the lack of communication. If you can't find the post from bungie stating what you did above, you're just throwing out an idea.

The stats processing is VERY slow right now, we're working on it. However, the system is designed to store the games until they can be processed. So, your data isn't being lost. You'll have to be patient, the current load is vastly more than even our most optimistic estimates, especially on weekends.

But we are working on it.

So anyone saying "it's FREE!!! give bungle a break!!" is just trolling. It's an included feature in the purchase that is supposed to work.

Wrong. It's not part of the purchase, merely an extension of the features available to complete the experience. Did you pay for your Bungie.net account? Nope, you bought the game. The fact that Bungie is willing to go beyond just about any other studio and track all this for us is a huge perk, that's it.

Also, trolling is causing problems or spamming or both. Stating that Bungie needs to be able to work on something without all of us climbing all over them isn't trolling.

Much like the rest of you, I'm missing plenty of games as well. I have a weirder problem however. A few games have been getting updated but not all of them. Like I have no recorded games from Friday when I played at least 20. It shows that I have one game on Sat. & 2 on Sun. Again, played way more than this. All these games were in matchmaking while online. Is everyone else just missing "ALL" games since a certain date or is it kind of scattered like me? Thanks for the support Bungie, can't wait until you guys get everything work straight again. That way you don't have to deal with us whining.

I played about 20 or so games last night through matchmaking. I only have 2 to show up now. Yet I have some newer games that I last played showing up. Are the games in between gone forever? This is for the online stats.

mine are just missing any games since October 4th. but ive played a few everyday since then.

its really not a big deal, when i sign in to live, my stats are how they should be in game, which is a better scenario than playing the games and not even seeing the results while you are in-game. eventually it will get fixed, Bungie is awesome like that.

meanwhile, just be thankful when you are playing that your exp and stats are getting recorded, or else you could play 50 games and still be corporal in matchmaking.

Just adding my experience. My games are also missing since the 4th. During the missing games a made Lieutenant, but my B.net serviec record still shows me as a Gunnery Sergeant. However, the achievements in my B.net service record have the correct date for earning the officer achievement, Oct 6.

Also, I took several screen shots from a game played on Saturday. Some of the screenshots posted to my service record here on B.net, some did not.

So, some information is getting through and other information is not.

Exactly. And anyone who believes (which Is why I like them posting their resume's here...will make for a nice comedy thread some day) that all of this "broken/missing" data is just sitting somewhere "backlogged", will buy anything.

This data just held up, sitting somewhere would be the first example of that I or several other people on this thread have ever heard of where something like that occurred with data entry. We're talking about something that's about as close to physically impossible, as possible. It's just not adding up...

Sorry Bungle. He bought the same game we did, paid the same price. His MP stats are recording, where are ours?

Until that's answered directly, Bungie has ignored us.

Posted by: IntrepidMerc420You're not understanding: There is NO evidence to support what they're saying...but there is evidence that the information is in fact gone forever.

What is the evidence? Your conjecture? The fact that some games showed up and others didnt? Who said they have to go in order? Does your line-in-the-sand stance mean that when your games are all updated we will never hear from you again? That would be glorious.

Personally, my Halo3 experience has been fine, despite not havign stats for the last few days. I dont know about this matchmaking-not-working thing, haven't had any of that. The stats will come in time, Im not worried. And why would the news talk about this? This isn't news. Wars are news, not a website failure.

And yet again- Doesn't bother you? Doesn't matter...it was intended to work, it doesn't, and anyone who complains has a legitimate gripe.

As stated before- You can't understand how stats are so important to me, and people like me can't understand how you arent' even concerned about yours lol. Difference of opinion, but this is totally off topic.

You still haven't said what your evidence is. You can't say it's because they aren't showing up in order, that isn't evidence of anything. that could be happening for a million reasons. Your convincing people that are just getting here that they have lost their stats when you have no evidence to back up such assertions. What is your evidence beyond what you have inferred? And saying "thats off topic" isn't answering the question (although it does intimate, what we all already knew - that you have no answer.)

And I say methinks all the time. its a great word. OMG OFF TOPIC!!

Neither does your calling out other posters, or continually going on about how Bungie is screwing us all over. You're posting faster than anyone here, so you really don't have much room to speak on the "trolling" topic. How does calling people "clueless" or "son" or anything else you've said help people find out what's going on here? Why not add to the discussion instead of fuel arguments and debate about each other?

That said, I'm done following this thread. I've pointed people to what we know (now many pages back) and wish Bungie the best in their efforts to fix things. I'll be waiting patiently for them and hope you all enjoy playing Halo, stats or not.

Raise your hand if you're a network administrator or database expert...

The PROFESSIONALS are working the problem, just let them work.

Nobody (except Bungie employees working the problem) knows how they have their servers set up. For all you know, they could be logging all the data as it comes in and updating the servers based on specific priorities. Or they could be going alphabetically, or using a random number generator.

All sarcasm aside, they're working the problem. Just keep posting the issues you're having so they have as much info as possible to help them identify the issue. Leave out the threats and hate.

Adding online play as a feature of a game doesn't GUARANTEE 100% uptime. It only guarantees that they will bust their butts to get any problems fixed ASAP, which I believe is exactly what they are doing right now...

P.S. - I too have a gap in my recent games, from about noon yesterday to currently. My exp. and screenshots are up to date. I'm confident this issue will be rectified soon.

*raises hand*

I agree 100% with you.

Yes, this does suck. At least the game is playable, I bought Warhawk on PS3 and it was completely unplayable online, and it's an online only game. I traded it for part of my Halo 3 purchase.
I should have way more medals, the weird thing is the way it updates some games (like Forge) and not others. Bungie does need to do something quick and don't act like Incognito who totally screwed up their online service and just played stupid and incompetent. It has been over a month and I think they are still not tracking worth a crap.

I'm confident this issue will be rectified soon.

so yea, 14 pages. sum it up, are the games/medals lost or in que for processing?

Bungie is not going above and beyond...in fact the industry standard is to have a Leaderboard. They did not put the Halo 3 leaderboard in game...they put it on a website. If i put in my copy of Rainbow 6 Vegas, I can see my complete K/D ratio, playing time, weapons I used, amount of kills per weapon, basicall everything I can see for Halo 3, except the map overlay, and that is all in game. Same with GH2, I can see song scores, career scores and the like...that is what I expect from a leaderboard Bungie promised its players a leaderboard, most of us bought this game under the premise that a fully functional leaderboard would be in place for us to track stats, etc. The fact that the development team chose to incorperate the game's leaderboard into a website and not in game is irrelevent to the issue. The true issue at hand is that the game's developers promised a leaderboard for it's players to compare stats and fuel competition, which is the industry standard. What the developers have delivered is a leaderboard that does not accurately track stats. It is incomplete and hinders the social structure of the game...the social structure which they promised us. It is now an issue of integrity. Bungie needs to address its shortcoming with an official answer. The players have a right to know, we all payed money for this game and its features.
