Wow, you have a lot of energy today. So do It, so I guess I'll expend it...

Nobody is asking for a technical explanation. We want to know...with a yes or a no to these questions:
1) Can we keep playing with the guarantee that our stats will be recorded just as accurately as everyone else?
2) Do you know for sure whether or not the data will return at some point? Yes or no. If you don't know, that's the answer. Speculation, is like you said, a total waste of everyone's time.
3) What's the statement on this effecting some, but not all players?
They can come on and answer that. They can make a post as lengthy and detailed as the ones we're making. I don't want to hear "but that takes away from the time they have to work on the problem". Stop it before I choke laughing. There are hundreds of employees at Bungle. I'm sure they can have 1 write the letter to us and the others just work on the problem.Yes, they could come on and answer those questions, but they would sound ridiculous without some amount of technical explanation. The stats system, being a web service, is inherently technical. A lot of people forget that because we exist in an age where almost everyone has access to the internet, but it is still somewhat "new" feeling; So everyone thinks they know more than they really do about web services, etc. I know you were dismissing people referencing they're credentials, but I think it lends weight to what I just said to mention that I am web developer myself. I deal with similar issues on a daily basis that the Bungie web team is currently dealing with (Although not on such a large scale. Lol).
What stats on my Xbox360? What is wrong with some of you? Wake up!! The stats we're all referring to don't even show up on the 360. And don't give me "well, stat tracking is free". Every other game on earth tracks the stats IN GAME and you can view it ON YOUR 360. In an attempt to increase website traffic, bungie went a totally unprecedented direction with this and made their website the basis of 90% of the stats. So it needs to work. It was their decision and obviously, a dumb one. Look how reliable it turned out to be....didn't even make it a week and a half.Where can I go to find my compiled stats for all that Mortal Kombat I played back in the day? Lol. Sorry, just being silly. Really:
What other games track this amount of data (Over an unlimited time) in the game itself? I'm sure there are some, but definitely not enough to meet your "Every other game on earth" assertion. Those games have some disadvantages compared to online stats: Your data is tied to your machine, so if your machine dies, your data dies. Also, the data takes up more and more space on your hard drive as time progresses.
So anyone saying "it's FREE!!! give bungle a break!!" is just trolling. It's an included feature in the purchase that is supposed to work. I've already stated that I believe you are flat out wrong on this point. If it is an official part of the product then please find for me where that is stated. Who should I call for support? Do you think any store would take you seriously if you tried to return your game based solely on the fact that you weren't satisfied with the stats tracking system?
You're just speculating with optimism. You have no idea whether or not this will be resolved. Go away, you're not helping the thread. It almost seems like you're trying to scare people away from this thread. Do you feel threatened? The person you were responding to was simply stating that your experience and rank data is stored on your box (Or possibly elsewhere on XBL) and is viewable in your service record in the game. I haven't heard of any delays in that part of the game...
Exactly. And anyone who believes (which Is why I like them posting their resume's here...will make for a nice comedy thread some day) that all of this "broken/missing" data is just sitting somewhere "backlogged", will buy anything.
This data just held up, sitting somewhere would be the first example of that I or several other people on this thread have ever heard of where something like that occurred with data entry. We're talking about something that's about as close to physically impossible, as possible. It's just not adding up...What's hilarious is that I literally have direct experience with these exact issues in my profession, and the idea that data is backlogged / "just sitting somewhere" is completely normal. People who don't have experience with data-connected application development (You, I'm assuming, are one of those people?) don't see the difference between what they are presented visually with the actual data. You see, just because you don't see the data, doesn't mean it isn't stored somewhere. There are tons of steps and transactions between when you generate the data (i.e. Play a game) and when you actually see it on your little personal page.
I'm not saying that data can't be lost or that isn't ever lost. I'm only trying to teach/assure you that the presentation of the data is completely separate from the collection and storage of the data.
Perhaps data entry professionals should not assume that their explanations are above actors, doctors, lawyers, rocket scientists. I mean, come on...clearly, there are some of us on this forum who have more responsibility and more demanding careers than a person who works in data entry for Wal-Mart or somewhere. So, I understood your explanation up top just fine...if anything, it's too simple. I want to hear whatever they have to say...even if they think I'm too dumb to understand it, simply because I don't work in data entry.
I've never heard of "data entry" being the field of brilliance before.
