So to get the Video calibration filter form the bungie store for free, you need to pay over $10 in shipping, and over $32 for international shipping.
I feel its a major rip off.

I then thought, ok fine, I will just get all my friends who want one and get theirs with mine all at the same time so we don't end up spending over $100 in shipping between all of us. Well .....NO...Limit One Per Customer.

If it is free, why didn't you just ship it with the Legendary and Collectors edition.

Not cool bungie.

Maybe you should think before opening your mouth, or typing.

I agree, i don't understand if this is a "required" piece for the A/V tool why it wasn't included. I put it in quotes cause I haven't had a chance to bust out my extras disc to check it out.

This is a very nasty surprise. I was just gonna buy the filter a some little thing like a pen, but at the checkout it came to like $50. Well, sorry, I'm not paying that much to get a piece of plastic delivered. Not cool indeed.

Stupid international shipping. I was surprised, upon searching my Legendary Edition box, to find that the filter wasn't included. And seeing that international shipping is still exorbitant, it doesn't look like I'll be able to get this, either. >.<

Ah, my apologies to the Canadian. I guess sarcasm is hard to catch when on a computer. But thanks for the comment Zero....

To the OP: I would just get the Calibration Filter the next time you buy something from the BNet Store. I hardly believe its anything essential to have anyway. Its your choice.

Why not just buy it local and mail it? International mail is far cheaper, isn't it?
What are the dimensions and weight?

-EDIT- Wait, you have to pay international shipping from US to Canada? THAT is blatant thievery.

I thought it did come with the legendary. When the calibrator asked me to put on the blue filter I searched for like 20 minutes thinking I must have set it somewhere. I finally realized it wasn't there.

They haven't said as much, but I suspect they planned to include it with the Limited and Legendary Editions, but they weren't ready in time. This is supported by the fact that they were delayed in even getting them to the Bungie Store.

In that case, this would be their lame attempt to cover themselves and make good with the community. Now we get something for "free" that we should have had to begin with. I don't think it's a good solution at all, though. As was stated, the shipping cost alone basically rules this out for anyone outside the US. Not to mention the fact that we now have to buy something that we wouldn't have otherwise.

Yes, but the for the amount that Bungie charges for international shipping, you would expect Frankie to hand deliver it to you.

I wonder why I can send an overnight package to China for less than Bungie can ship me a blue filter that was supposed to be included with the Legendary Edition.

Yup, thats $32 dollars to ship from Seattle to Vancouver...for a piece of plastic that would fin in an envelope.

-edit- But I guess bungie needs to make money some how, no more sugar daddy ; )

I believe that the calibration filters were to be included in the game...however, they were not finished in time to make it into the package.

The filter is free with any purchase from Bungiestore. You must realize that even when you are given something "free", the company who is selling it still has costs to recoup (the cost of producing the filters, receiving the item, loading it onto the website, picking it for the order, shipping it, etc).

It states on Bungie.net and on Bungiestore that it is free with purchase. Hopefully this clears some things up for you.

cheers,
g

I don't think any of us were unclear about any of those points.

I was even gonna buy 2 tees at the same time but that shipping is hilarious. I buy online from many band sites in the US and I have never seen prices that high. I got a shipment of three individually tubed posters, 5 tees, stickers, magnets, frisbees (yes, I will buy any merch!) all delivered in a dufflebag from Wilco's (the band) online shop and the cost was only about half of what a piece of paper and a tee cost to ship from Bungie.

PS: Seeing as I had to pay shipping on my scratched disc in the Limited edition do I get some sort of cut in shipping? ;)

It makes it clear that I just spent $20 that I wouldnt have normally spent to get something that was supposed to be included for free in the $130 edition that I bought.
