No, He's cool but when you beat it Cortana scans the area and says no one else survived. MC or Cortana doesn't say "Hey look over there, its Sgt. Johnson ". I like him but he's dead.

sad, sad person pretending they are a halo fan. I'm not even going to point out how dumb you are. read what ppl said above you. the books explains how he survived and for everyone who hasn't read the books, he was in the e3 demo last year.

Ok guys, I've had dreams about this, and I'm going crazy over it. I know that First Strike talked about Sargeant A.J. Johnson surviving the Flood, (which is amazing by the way) getting of Halo, (by some miracle) and meeting up with MC. But will he be in Halo 2? Please say why he would or wouldn't be in Halo 2. Thanx guys, maybe this will make the crazy nightmares go away. Did I just say that out loud?

UMMM... he DID survive and ummm... He was in the Halo 2 E3 2003 video...

Well, he isn't dead. First Strike and the E3 2003 vid show it. Too bad if you don't like the explenation in First Strike. I believe the books are official, so Bungie just can't pretend they don't exist. Its official story material: he's alive. Plus Johnson is just a badass. You can't have Halo without him. If you don't like the explenation of his survival just think of it this way: Sergeant Johnson is just being such a badass he can't die, because its true. He's immortal, he could probably kick MC's ass. MC would kill Johnson, but then Johnson would just come back again and again until MC was really tired and Johnson killed him.

Johnson should definately be in Halo 2. I'm almost positive he is. Unless that guy in the E3 just looks like Johnson. Oh, and even if Johnson had died in Halo Bungie would still bring him back, he's that cool. Who cares if he died, he's a badass. He didn't die though, so he's back.

Have you read first by anychance? A whole group of marines (including Srg Johnson) survived. Cortanna's scanners just couldn't find them. Also, as has been pointed out, the fact tthat he is in the beggining of the E3 video makes it a good chance that he is in Halo 2. Don't beleive it is him? Well they have a Halo 2 voice outake on him. If you find try to dissprove me on these points you are either a freakin idiot or a master arguer.[/quote

I bet you two argue how much better the new Star Wars films are than the old ones.
I've read the book and that's a moronic excuse. The Flood rejected him, ok maybe, but wouldn't they have attacked him anyway, the Flood is just a tad bit agressive aren't they.
Try beating the game on Legendary, you know the setting you're scared of playing on. Johnson and an Elite have moment before the Autumn explodes, while standing on the ground away from any ship to fly him to safety. But I digress.
Bungie saw fit to put him in Halo 2 for whatever reason, oh wait because simple people need the same funny guy from the first game to make jokes in the second. Some players don't understand that other characters can make jokes.

And yes you can make a Halo game without Johnson, however you can't make one without MC.

In First Strike, Dr. Halsey thinks that the dead Flood DNA inside Johnson gave him "curious regenerative ability" although she can't prove it. Usually, she suspects right. So maybe he can regenerate after getting shot up and blown to bits. So everytime he "dies" he just reanimates like the Flood do. Just my thoughts.

Exactly this is true. Johnson was exposed to extreme radiation (before HALO) and he refused treatment. Halsey i think said that the radiation altered his dna and made him resistant to the Flood dna. so when he was infected the flood died and he retained their regenerative abilities.

He IS in Halo 2. Mad enough. He died like 5 times in Halo 1. He's gotta be MC's brother or Superman.

the books tell the story, Bungie authorized the books didn't they? that's how the storys going, live with it.

btw I think the Legendary ending was just a joke ending, I don't think that's really part of the story
