* Sigh *
Once again, you missed all my points.
1. I get horrible framerates and very poor performance on Vista when running new games, and everyone I talked to seems to agree Vista causes it.
2. Halo 3 was not a good game, from looking at the Halo 3 Forums, a lot of people seem to agree
3. I do know good games when I see them, Halo 3 just wasn't one for me. And from what I've heard, kids cause issues like betraying and goofing off instead of playing.
And Bungie is sure doing a good job constantly mentioning the map pack, in the daily updates, in forums, even REDESIGNING THE SITE! Do you think the kids could resist?
4. Probably where you missed my point the most: I bought a $500 computer, bought better parts off the Internet, and now I have a great gaming PC. But would the average consumer know how to install a graphics card, or, for that matter, what a graphics card IS, or what kinds there are, or what to buy? You can't just start playing PC games by having a computer anymore. PC makers have gotten to the point where they make their PCs just for "personal use" (Internet, e-mail, media, etc). NOT GAMING!
So sure, I got my own gaming PC, but the average consumer would run into serious difficulties getting one. Most consumers are probably unaware about how the "great" Intel integrated graphics cards work, and how unstable they are. Case in point: I saw a computer at a local Circuit City running Flight Simulator X. This computer had a "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3000" (horrible) graphics card listed as the card. SO I asked the guy the specific specifications of the display computer, know what he said? NVIDIA 8800GT! They put in the 8800GT to fool customers into thinking games like that wil actually run on such a cheap system (that's ironic to, this computer was over $1,000, yet it still has an Intel card)
