You know how you have the xbox dashboard that you can chat with friends and send emails with games like h2v and shadowrun. well i was wondering if all games with the box "games for windows live" on top of it can do the same thing, or are they just regular pc games without the capability? I would really like to know so if you have any answers please tell me.

I can only speak for Halo 2 Vista, although I would assume any PC game that has the 'Live' branding works the same: Yes, you can use your Live account from XBL in your Live-enabled game. You can send/receive messages. I'm not sure if voice chat works, but it might.

There's even a 'dashboard'-esque menu that you can enter by pressing 'Home' on your keyboard (or the 'Xbox' button on a 360 Controller plugged into your PC).

Live gives you features, but requires you to pay for multiplayer, just like on a 360.

Wrong. Wrong Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. A Silver Live account is free and allows you to play online and send messages to other Live members. The only thing is does not do is allow you to automatically join a friends game or play cross-platform like on Shadowrun. I'm beginning to wonder if this misconception is the main reason for the lack of Halo2 players instead of it being Vista exclusive.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Does this mean if a friend is playing Halo 2 Vista, and I have a silver account, and I want to join them, I can't? Nice of Microsoft to obstruct people from communicating. What a bunch of liars.

ok this is hypothetical. what if say i bought sega rally revo.(new game thats why i say it) and i wanted to chat to message say my friends on h2v. would that be possible. would i have the dashboard and everything? would they be able to recognize where i am? or would i just be totally oblivious of where they are and they would be the same for me?
what i dont understand is why a game that is available for both pc and xbox 360 only gives achivements to those with the 360 (excluding shadowrun and h2v).

Hello! Star Wars FTW. Also, join the MAW group. Please?

Not all Games for Windows brand games are Live enabled. So far there are only 2 Live enabled games of the PC, H2V and Shadowrun.

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

There should be a lot more soon, with Epic building G4WL support into UE3.

Also, Splinter Cell Conviction in March '08 will support it, along with cross platform play. :)

Oh snap! I apologize. I guess I assumed it worked the same way as XBL. I apologize heartily.
