Ok. I asked the guys at the battle scholars, and they seemed to like Sabre. What do you think my band's name should be?

Yeah that's what I thought. Achilles you should join the Battle Scholars! There's a guy named Achilles in Ender's Shadow.

Nah, I'm in enough groups as it is. But thanks for the offer.

Anyway, try to think up something cool, but also try and have a story behind the name.

For instance, If you called your band 'Iroquois Nation' (Pronounced Ear-uh-koi) (Crappy name, I know, but bear with me) you could actually say that the people you named your band off of were a band of Native American braves who fought the British, French, Americans, and the Hurons for over 200 years.

You know, so you have a sort of gimmick.

I was reading my Geography textbook in class one day and it something about how Mexico coincides wealth and poverty. Immediatly I thought of how in christ I have everything yet have nothing so seeing as our music is solely for lifting up the name of Jesus, I thought that was a pretty cool name: Coinciding Wealth and Poverty. Also I am partial to long names like Coheed and Cambria, Further Seems Forever, and Five Iron Frenzy.

If you're going to be an 80's hair-metal band, I'd suggest "Exit Wound."

A possible ska or goofy punk name could be The Flamin' Chupacabras. Or The Napalm Monkeys. If you're an emo/serious punk band, be...dunno, I hate that genre so I can't come up with a name that wouldn't be satirical. If you're a screamo/hardcore band, be Sinful Desire or Veil of Darkness or something. If you already stated what kind of music you play, forgive me, as I didn't really read through this thread.

I'm in two bands right now. One is a ska band called Betta Fish Fight Club, and the other is...well, it's a fusion of all sorts of different styles. I can't quite put my finger on it. We don't have a name for that one, either, because we can't find one that fits our almost nomadic style.

Hmm...maybe we could be the Genre Nomads...

i like names that you kinda wonder what they mean, like:

better than ezra
mr. north

or long names that you know means something. something like "yesterday's heroes"

or, you could just go with an awesome word, like "saraphim"

or, if you want to be REALLY lame, you could name your band after halo. "fallen spartans" lol

Ignore these four words.

I think a good name would be either The Flying Space Popes, Blindeye Sniper, or String Cheese Incident.
