Being the guy with the PS2 i feel it is my duty to once again protect Sony, but only cause they made Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.

I'm pretty sure that I'm getting both. I'm getting the DS for X-mas and the PSP for a graduation gift. I have to go with the DS for the hardware, but for me, the PSP has the goods.

The DS is a little kids toy. That touch screen breaks easily. The PSP will be the best handheld system. The games for the DS suck. The PSP will have good games that aren't 2-D. Some 2-D games are good, but not Metroid.

DS is on my Christmas list, but I probably won't get it. I don't know much about PSP.

The DS has a 3D graphics accelerator, the games are not all 2D.

Sigh...Square made those games, not Sony. Sony makes generic platformer crap like sly cooper and jak and daxter.

I'll wait to judge the PSP until it comes out. If ever. One day. If they ever solve that battery problem. I spoke with a Sony represenative a couple of weeks ago. He said that they battery only lasts three hours and they're not sure how to fix it. One idea was to allow the battery to be interchangable, allowing customers to purchase new batteries to cycle through while old ones charge...

... I guess that's a good idea.

Yay! You have reformed Flamechu. I believe that I will get the PSP to, but not on the release date like the DS.

lol one of my friends said ,"yeah im gonna get a PSP so i can play games all day any where i go," the truth is its not practilcly possible its battery only lasts 2 hours but everything else is good......for its size. anyway if you want something to take with you and play all day any where with get the DS. because PSP is a home system.

dude up there (im 2 lazy to quote), metroid fusion was one of the best 2D games every made for the SP.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

Damn that game was fun...
Really, though, the PSP only has one advantage: power. Better graphics and a bigger processor.
The DS has the touch screen, allowing for precise control even on a handheld, wireless connectivity, innovative games (using the touch screen, two screens, and voice recognition, rather than just a bigger engine), and a better pricepoint.

I think this quote from a japanese guys whose name I can't remember or spell sums it up pretty well:
"Would you rather travel at a slightly faster speed down a road you have travelled many times, or would you rather take a brand new road that you have never gone down before?"

The fact simply remains that the PSP is an "Entertainment Device".

* You'd look stupid listening to music on it. iPod's are better, and worth the money.

* Watching Movies on it blows the battery. If you are looking at a three hour battery life, you can have one movie. At the very most. For the four hours until it recharges.

* PS2 Quality Graphics---What's that? Ports? Lot's of crappy ports? Games made by...'Sony'?

* Minute long load times to get in to games.

* No battery life.

I just like the DS better because it seems so much more novel, and useful.

GO PSP. having said that, the ds may have mario and metroid, but psp has the graphics, the size, the games, rechargable bateries, online shooting games, and i have to admit, the march lineup for the us release kicks ass. i cant wait to get mine. grand turismo will kickass on it.
