But next time, make this in New Mombasa. It's not related to Halo: Combat Evolved.

Just to point out some facts, Halo 2 is at the time only XBOX, so all the PC fans are actually forced to buy one. In that case sales will raise, of both. The fenomene of Halo 2 is enough to get the Xbox to the top, so why bother and give the PC gamers something. The oppinion Im telling you is as far as I can tel Microsoft's, what Bungie has to say about I do not know(maybe i should read the FAQ again). So their plan is to let us PC-gamers, look at the glorious face of Halo 2 for more then 2 years, then decide to make a port, which probably will suck again...

If you cant wait an Xbox will be the answer, you dont have to buy it ony for Halo 2,you can also get other great games

Most PC's can barely handle Halo so Halo 2 would make the PC self destruct or something.

The wording in Bungie's updated FAQ leaves the possibility open. But I would guess that it wouldn't be announced until the Xbox market for the game has slowed down a bit. From a business standpoint, it would be stupid of them to announce it too soon and have people hold out for the PC version. And again, from a business standpoint, it would be dumb not to release a PC version at all, since it would probably sell pretty well, especially if it was supported with patches and features for the competitive community (spectator mode, demo recording, etc.)

There's a lot of tru7h in that statement. Halo 2 just wouldn't be Halo 2 if it were put on the computer.

Actually, here's a question for all of you. Bungie first showcased Halo on the mac. Everyone rejoiced. Then Bungie got bought out and it was going to be M$'s big xbox game. To keep eeryone from rioting Bungie promised halo would return to the mac and pc, eventually (tm).

Would Halo have been released to computer if this wasn't the case? If bungie had been making halo for the xbox from the beginning, would they have bothered to give it to computer users as well?

I don't think so. What do you all think? Bungie has no promise to release Halo 2 to the computers, so will they? (there is an interview on Halo 2 found on halo.bungie.org if which this is directly asked, and the interviewee says its possible, but completely undecided).

I don't see any reason why there's a problem with being a Bungie nerd on the Bungie.net forums.

Besides, this topic has come up at least at least once before in the week that I posted that first time.

I think almost every PCgamer I know is very disappointed and probably will be disappointed with how Halo PC was handled. Halo 2 may have a chance to be good on the PC IF the developers and the publisher work together to make a fantastic game that Halo Xbox was. Unfortunately, there was too much political decision like this "Microsoft must approve patch" which resulted in no patch since Feb 10, 2004. So far as I see it, Microsoft has abandon Halo PC for good along with Gearbox who have made this so-called stupid Halo CE which only does multiplayer isn't even supporting it. Just look at the Gearbox Forum and you'll know what I mean. The PC version was pretty much made just to meet the demands the PC community was asking for the last 4 years was a Halo game on their PC. I guess it was best that Microsoft should have cancelled it all together and we PC gamers can move to something else while still supporting Microsoft by buying their operating system. Anyways, after the Halo CE was release, I still get an "exceptional error" and it isn't due to the hardware or anything, but the software itself and now it is uninstalled. Good bye Master Chief.

Making Halo 2 for PC would give bungie a hell load of money. Even though the Halo 2 for Xbox is compatible with Xbox Live, I think many people would purchase the PC version of Halo 2.
