Hey guys,

I'm an amateur web developer myself, and am very impressed by Bungie.net's design. By chance, does anyone know if Bungie.net uses a CMS (Content Management System), or if the webmaster(s) built the site from scratch?

Thanks!

It's a drunken dude in a gorilla suit.

Though, in seriousness, b.net is based on a very, very heavily modified version of ideal science. It's basically modified to the point of being seperate software. Almost all of the content is added using the web-based submittal systems (see an example of it by trying to submit news to the front page).

Ahh, I thought Ideal Science was just forum software. It makes much more sense now.

As I use Joomla on my website, I was very familiar with some of the features that I observed on B.net, but there are without a doubt many heavily modified features. Good to know though that I can compare and contrast Ideal Science if I ever decide to have MS Hosting for ASP (fat chance though).

A couple more questions, though. How did they modify it to the extent that they did? Were they able to do so because of self-contained hosting?
