Does anyone know if Phil has said anything about Darell yet? Probably has to dig himself out of a gutter some where. I blame the break-up of Pantera on Phil, his ego was way to big for any one band, and thats why he has his other band now, so they can all pamper to him, and treat him like a god.

And no, Pantera was not about violence, it wasnt thuggery, it was about shoving it to the man. Most of their lyrics actually teach you to defend yourself and let no man walk over you. It was about standing up for yourself when no one else would. It was self-esteem for the poor man if you will. So all you people who say that Pantera was violence, it really wasnt, and you havent really listened to the lyrics, otherwise you wouldn't think this
A snippet from Pantera's "War Nerve" off The Great Southern Trendkill Album:
Expect the worse, you bleeding heart, but kill me first
before it starts, yes my -blam!- is getting hard, we are
born different after all
Invite mayhem, produce weapons, shoot out, burn down
No CNN or media now

The Reinventing the Steel album lyrics do seem centered around drug addiction in my opinion. http://www.geocities.com/panteralyrics/

Though I was not a big Pantera fan (I do like a few of their songs, but that's about it), & haven't heard any of Damageplan's stuff, I don't think the guitarrist Darrell Abbott or the others who died deserved to die that way.

My condolences to the families of the victims & to the fans.

Take care,

...The people were kissing his hands and his feet...
wait a minute... did someone kill jebus again?

i'm curious to see if the rock/metal world takes a page out of the Tupac/B.I.G. saga, and decides to make a boat-load of money from his death.

Dimebag was the nicest guy, you could have ever met. Never a mean word to anyone. He would let anybody go party and hang out and jam with him at his house. He certainly did not deserve this. Rock and roll has lost one of the greatest guitar pioneers of the metal scene. But other people were murdered by this psycho also, so let us not forget them. May they all rest in peace.
