And no, Pantera was not about violence, it wasnt thuggery, it was about shoving it to the man. Most of their lyrics actually teach you to defend yourself and let no man walk over you. It was about standing up for yourself when no one else would. It was self-esteem for the poor man if you will. So all you people who say that Pantera was violence, it really wasnt, and you havent really listened to the lyrics, otherwise you wouldn't think this
A snippet from Pantera's "War Nerve" off The Great Southern Trendkill Album:
Expect the worse, you bleeding heart, but kill me first
before it starts, yes my -blam!- is getting hard, we are
born different after all
Invite mayhem, produce weapons, shoot out, burn down
No CNN or media now
The Reinventing the Steel album lyrics do seem centered around drug addiction in my opinion. http://www.geocities.com/panteralyrics/
Though I was not a big Pantera fan (I do like a few of their songs, but that's about it), & haven't heard any of Damageplan's stuff, I don't think the guitarrist Darrell Abbott or the others who died deserved to die that way.

My condolences to the families of the victims & to the fans.
Take care,
