I've been reminiscing since the release of Halo 3, and I can't agree with those that say Halo 3 legendary is harder than CE. I can think of two rooms right off the top of my head that, in my opinion, make anything in Halo 3 look like child's play.
1) The most obvious choice is the grav lift room on The Truth and Reconciliation. Along with the legions of Jackals and Grunts, how many cloaked Zealots are thrown at you here? Four? Five? It's hard to keep an accurate count whilst getting one's ass handed to one so often and repeatedly. The only way I could last more than about forty-five seconds here is to run up to the first door that opens, stick the elite, run into the corridor before the door closes, and hide. From inside you could harass and pick off most of the weaker enemies while maintaining decent cover... that is, until more zealots and infantry spawn in the doors behind you and proceed to shoot/ stab/ grenade you. In the unlikely event that you survive all this, you're rewarded with a congratulating party consisting of two Hunters, who are especially fun to battle in the confined grav lift room with plenty of crates to get in your way. At least you get a checkpoint before hand, though.
2) This choice is somewhat of a sleeper. I don't know if I was the only one to have a ton of trouble with this room, but the second pulse generator owned me countless times on Two Betrayals. Not only does the generator deplete your shields entirely, but as soon as you step in, about 300 flood forms fill the room from every angle. The only strategy that I could get to succeed in this room was to immediately head away from the door and work my way around the perimeter, blasting everything between me and the exit with rockets and grenades, and pray that my explosives killed enough for me to sneak out to my awaiting banshee. I never even considered trying to fight all of the flood, as doing so seemed completely suicidal.
any other submissions would be great.
