I knew it was time to go when I unconsciously reached for the Xbox power button rather than my 360's; both of which contained presumably Bungie's "Greats." There is just something missing from the Halo sequels that was present in the original. Yes, Halo 3 has an uncountable number of game settings and options and yea it has the Forge. But when it comes down to it Halo: CE still has more replay value. I don't know what it is that allows me to run around in Prisoner by myself and enjoy myself more than playing a 5 man FFA on any given map from Halo 3 - perhaps it is the fact that in Halo 3 there's no health and just a shield, the sluggish feeling of movement and controls, radar on all matchmaking, awful grenades, enormous hit-boxes, horrid weapon/player spawn systems, or the unnecessary scaling change from H1 to H2/H3... but the list goes on and on; just as numerous as the custom settings in Halo 3 itself. Is it that these "changes for the better" did not actually improve upon the game but actually broke an already outstanding game? I've heard it for years now and I just can't play the sequels, they are nothing compared to the original. I was hoping to see a dramatic change similar to that of H1 to H2, praying that Bungie would realize that some of these fixes weren't fixes at all and act accordingly for Halo 3. Sadly, it can be summed up as many others have come to label it: Nothing more than Halo 2.5. So there it is, Finally! I broke away from the Bungie/Microsoft hype and play a game for one thing only: Gameplay. Not just because it is more recent and has a blaring number "3" behind it; nor because it has the graphics of a next-gen console. Hopefully I'll see many more of you on XBC in the near future and thanks again for the reimbursed 35$, Gamestop.
