Subject: Halo 3? I think So!

you seem to forget bungie has been working on this game for a long time and they said it wil lbring closure to the series i wouldnt doubt that its a 2 disk game 1 disk for SP and 1 for MP also i hope it gives the story line while ur in the action like you have to go around defending some marine as he pulls info on forrunner out of a machine or somethin

by the way GS is confused he thinks MC is forrunner he has been on this installation since it started he thinks he's learning about all the information of forrunner history and he thinks that the forrunners are related to humans

I'll respond. Maybe GS is confused because MC's armor is based on Forerunner technology (indirectly. It's really based on Covie tech, which is based of FR tech.). But GS also refers to a dead Marine (either in the game or in the book, I can't remember) as "the other Reclaimer". That Marine was definitely not wearing MJOLNIR. So maybe GS knows something about Humans that we don't.

Ok I'll say something

Ragarding your 2 disc idea, its very unlikely. The special edition case has the game disc and a bonus DVD I think. DVDs can hold loads of data so why do we need to load two seperate discs?

I definitely responded to this but for some reason it doesn't show. There's something wrong with the forums (or with my computer).

Never mind. Now it works.

It's really based on Covie tech,

Im pretty sure the MJOLNIR armour is innovative and not based on covie/forerunner technology. I have no proof right now and Im not going to go dig it up but Im sure its UNSCs own creation. I think thats why humans have a link to forerunner because they invent similar things.

Forerunner create armour

Humans create armour

Covenant copy forerunners suit and think humans are blasphemous to try and make a variation thus, they hate us and wage a religious war saying that they are an affront to the gods for trying to beat the original forerunner armour by themselves instead of copying like they should!-opinion though.

uhh 2 years of working on a game for a humungus game pushing the limits of a consoles power with an extensive mp and sp doesnt fit on one disk unless im wrong somewhere

If your thinking Xbox discs carry the same as gamecube discs your well off. gamecube discs carry much less data which is why some games require two discs on gamecube. Im not saying your talking about gamecube discs though, im just assuming...

Trust me, halo2'll fit on a single disc.

You don't need to install anything on the xbox, though, so you probably won't need more that two disks (if you even need more than one at all).

Has anyone else noticed that our conversation has nothing to do with the topic anymore?

I dont know about this unreal thing but trust me halo 2 will be on one xbox disc.

(I'm like 95% sure on this, its not been confirmed but no other game will be or is going to be on 2 discs. Besides theres supposed to be less polygons in halo2 so theres another reason why!)

I doubt there'll be a Halo 3. There's been at least 8 years of development on Halo related games, I would guess Bungie's ready to move on.

Why does shiska have to be with bungie? He's the bearer of bad news:( I just hope Halo wont become sold out like sonic and mario and stuff like that although i cant imagine it happening

That's what I'm afraid of too. Even though Halo is a great game, making too many could kill it. If Bungie stops at two, then Halo will go down in video game history as one of the classics. If they make too many, people might start asking, "When will they give it up and move on?"

But theres so much profit to be made off the halo franchise, and so long as they dont make crappy sequels to get some quick cash, i hope they dont ever stop the series (although I think they'll probably stop at 2, most at 3 if they go for a trilogy)

That's what I meant. Crappy sequels can spell the death of any great video game, book, or movie.

This is about Halo 3,

Maybe they have another section starting it in secrecy like the new zelda they only just released at E3 while they were making 4 swords.

  • 06.04.2004 9:20 PM PDT

SB-117

But I doubt bungie would make something like that. They'd think up new innovations and work hard on each sequel unlike game from EA for example....

I heard bungies previous games were either crappy japanese rpgs or mindless hack and slashes with a low budget

Was this true?

If it is, imagine what woulf happen if microsoft had overlooked HALO's capabilities

No. Or at least the Marathon series wasn't. I've never played it, but I know it had a very detailed storyline (which is actually kind of similar to Halo).

Actually sport game companies do make several new things. In 989's (terrible sport game company) MLB 2005 got a 4/5. As opposed to last year which was like 2/5

No its not true, I thought myth was really great and Ive heard nothing but good things about the marathon series... But games like Oni I havent played yet but probably will eventually...

UT 2004 = 6 dics? they were cds so lets say 700MB a piece.

That means that those 6 dics held 4.2GB.

Now halo 2 could be made on a dual layer dvd giving it 9.6GB a disc. I could see it on one disc, unless it really is super gigantic.

I have never heard anything but bad things about them so i thought that there was a margin for error for HALO 2
