I might be considering a 20" wide.

I have:
Pentium D 930
1950 Pro 256MB
3GB Ram

1280x1024 runs at 40-60(vsync is on)
Anyone know how it'll run?

Maybe a Core 2 Duo will be a little better. But with your config, im estimating (which im bad at) 30fps.

I'm getting a case soon so I can get an ATX board. THEN I'll upgrade to C2Q.

I'll OC to like 3.7 GHz when I get my board. That'll help till I get my Q6600.

why do you have 3 gigs of ram? unless your running 64 bit, anything over 2gb is useless

I had 1 gig of DDR2 533
I bought 2 gigs of DDR2 800
My mobo supports only DDR2 677

So I just kept all 3 till I get my new motherboard...

Also Windows recognizes all 3096 MB of ram

The difference between a core 2 duo and a pentium D is nothing more than that the Core 2 Duo has a bit faster FSB, and if his motherboard doesn't support a higher bus speed (and as it's old enough to only support 667 mghz ram, it probably can't) then a Core 2 Duo wouldn't make a difference.
I've got a dual core Pentium D running at 3.4 GHz (not oc'd either). Doesn't sound bad to me.

A core 2 duo has better architecture.
