If you have read the halo books then you should state your opinions on the origins of the spartans, and whatever else

well, i mean that is cruel beut think of the poor covies!! there all gettin owned by them!! ya know but the books put a real good perspective of violence, like when you feel like that evil sense in this part of halo the flood, The Master Chief Cleared the room and had a red dot on his radar and saw a grunt hiding in the cabinet :-) the grunt knew it was over when the mc took off his methane mask, the mc heard a small click and then wild hammering in the cabinet makes you feel like wow these spartans are like pretty damn crazy, vicious, smart, born killers, etc.

Personally, I think the book did a terrible job of outlining the story line of Halo. They skipped many otherwise improtant scenes of it.

KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, I feel better now. Yeah, they did have it pretty bad, and I felt sorry for them, but at the same time I thought it would be cool if I was one of them. It would give me some serious structure in my life, if you know what I mean.

The books are the BEST!!! The halo games while good have a very outthere feeling to the story line. The books help the story go along.

Spartans had it way rough as a kid... i mean like in First Strike wen mc recalls a training exercise, they were getting shot at wit real bullets and mc almost got tortured to tell something.they even were using bombs. and i thought i had a rough life...

In the Fall of Reach, when they put the spartans on different 3 different teams, the first 2 to complete a course, got a good meal, but the losing team starved. Needless to say, Master Chief was stealing girl's crackers when they were in class. Hell yeah!

^^^^none the less he turned out to be a great warrior. It was good how there were spartans on reach in halo. Big suprise. As you can see mc was born a hero.

the books were awesome... I've read them so many times that they are literally falling apart. I'm interested to see if any of the other spartans made it. I mean the series left off with several remaining spartans: fred, linda, kelly, will, and john

The books were awesome..... I wish they could do the game for the bits in between halo and halo2, and the fall of reach and before that etc. it would be awesome.

yah what he said ^^^

I like that Bungie never really comments about the books, therefore creating sooo much room for possible sequels/other books, beacuse there are a LOT of loophopes in those books (i.e Dr.Halsey with Kelly, the hint at the Spartan III program to rival the MC, and the hint of human involvement on another halo with new flood)

i know exactly what you are talking about....what the hell happened with kelley and halsey? and the other remaining spartans still alive!?!!? they should be with the chief fighting in halo 2,,,,,,so confused.

the spartans may have had a rough life, but at least they have a life worth somthing.
being tortoured, shot at, bombed, ect. is alot better than going to gym class to play a little basketball or somthing, then going math, l.a., us histor...for 6 hours to learn how to spell entreprenuer, learning the difference between sine and cosine, the santa maria's original name was, why gas is flamable...this is the stuff you'll never use! i would perfer to have had the life of a spartan, maby it's not to late...

yapyap??? its YaYap. and he is the assistant of the convenet 'Zamanee which is the one he rescued in the 2nd book The FLOOD... I think 'Zamanee is the one who becomes the Arbiter. 'Zamanee was the like only one of the elite to survive a battle with master chief.
