I personally have liked how the 360 Achievements system works but I don't like some like Mongoose Mowdown because its rare you ever do mow someone down, and rarer still in FFA (I've done it once on Team Slayer; I still don't have the actual achievement). Probably the hardest ones to get are Headshot Honcho, Killing Frenzy, and Maybe Next Time Buddy (I've never been boarded in multiplayer).

not all achievements are supposed to be easy to get.

if they were, what would be the point of having them?

The point of achievements is to show off skill, not pure luck.

You say tomato; I say potato.

I did accomplish getting armor so ridiculous, its off the spectrum of oddities. I call this level of crazy 'undunculous'. Whether or not I got a legit overkill; I'm wearing armor that looks so blatantly stupid, I would definitely have worn it if was unlocked to begin with.

I think the main reason why people boost is - it's so easy to get it with boosting, but so hard without it.

The Mongoose doesn't go fast enough to mow someone down --- it's so much easier in the Pregame lobby for Isolation to say 'i'll let you kill me three times if you let me run over you with the mongoose'
I did boost this one - took two tries cause the first didn't do enough damage.

So far, that's the only one i've boosted. Lee R Wilson was easy. Slayer on Isolation, theres spike grenades all over that map.. Got 9 sticks in one game...

However, another one that is very likely to be boosted is Maybe next time buddy. I always though this was like the others - Ranked FFA. Careful reading showed me it was any FFA. Meaning, I can sign in a guest and do it to him.

Also, I have a feeling theres going to be a lot of EXP boosting on Rumble Pit. Sign in 3 guests with no people at the controllers, kill one. Instant top 3.

You have to be a god with a luck streak to get overkill.

My personal stance is that achievements only matter to you, so if you didn't boost pat yourself on the back. IF you did you didn't accomplish anything so I dunno how you feel. I personally kind of dislike boosting, but I think Bungie should have put in either "time" achievements or more achievements like "Killling Frenzy" which take A LOT of skill and not "Two for One" which is kind of like blind luck or "Mongoose Mowdown" which is like randomly getting lucky or sacrificing your KD ratio. I also think that they don't really matter, and it doesn't matter to you that much, other then the fact that they feel worthless to the "legit" achievement getters.

But my opinion doesn't matter.

At all.

So what is Bungie's official opinion? Achronos? And please somebody give it soon so all of these achievement threads can be SHUT DOWN IN THE FACE one way or the other.

Thx.
