I was not able to find any tech help forums for Halo so I am posting here. Feel free to direct me to the correct place as I feel that this is the wrong area.

Onto my problem:
When I load up Halo I get the following error:
"A problem occured initializing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration maybe disbabled, pleased run DXDIAG."

I did what it stated to do - and I checked Direct3D and DirectDraw in DXDIAG. Both are working correctly. I also installed new video drivers, reinstalled directX 9b, and restarted numerous times. I am not exactly sure what is wrong. I went to MS's help section and I attempted to fix it according to what they stated at this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=191660
None of it helped.
I know that my computer can run this game as I have at GeForce 4 TI 4600.
I also tried to turn anti-aliasing off in my video card, as well as other options - but it still did not help.

So, does anyone have any ideas on what exactly is the problem of this?
Thank you.

first off, microsoft has free tech support (i think there is toll free # on box... let me see...) ok here we go for canada its 905-568-3503 and for USA its 425-637-9308. It says toll charges may apply. To work with a support profesional via instant messaging go http://support.microsoft.com/directory/onlinesr.asp Hope this gets Halo ready to rumble on your machine.

Have you tried reinstalling Halo? You might've just had bad luck with your install.

Also, next time the warning window pops up, see if it gives you an option to boot into the game in safe mode, and see if safe mode works.
