I love Halo almost as much as the next guy, so I created the following variations you can mess around with:

Hide and Go Seek Halo

You simply make everyone invisible. Have someone hide and everyone has to find the person hiding. Sidewinder and Blood Gulch are the best boards. Also give everyone snipers so they can zoom, ergo making it harder for the screen watchers.

Or (better yet)

Warthog flippin'

Make it a 'Race' so that everyone has a warthog. Drive around and try to flip each other. The first person to run over 5,15,25 wins. No shooting back at the guys in the Warthogs. Also you can't run over people who haven't gotten back into their Warthog after being ran over. If you are killed by a vehicle no one gets you as a point. Blood Gulch is the only good board for this, because of the hills.

Has anyone else come up with variations of Halo, besides mixing up the options for the boards?

In Assault on the Controlroom level, be on co-op and get to one of the lifts. Then make one player jump on top of the control panel (where you press the button to go up/down) and the other player shoot the player on top of the control panel dead. Continue as long as you want. Make sure you have got grenades (plasma are best), `couse now the fun begins! Throw a grenade at the dead bodies on the control panel, and watch like twenty bodies fly around on the lift. Throw grenades again for more flying corpses.
I have also come up with the Warthog game, actually. It`s fun!

Also, in Blood Gulch multiplayer level, make so both players have a Warthog, then drive to the left side of the red base (where the flat area is) then make the Warthogs face eachother, a long distance from each other. Then drive as fast as you can towards each other, and hopefully one of the Warthogs will fly very high in the air. (altough not as high as if you play co-op and make one player get grenades, and the other player kills the player with the grenades so the grenades fall under the car. This is also very fun! Then go get even more grenades, continue as long as you can find grenades, but make sure you have ONE grenade left, you have to toss it under the car, the watch the car fly damn high when all of the grenades blow up at once. The Silent Cartographer is the best level for this)

I made up this game where you must get a worthog and get a person to drive up to another person and try to run them over. The person outside the warthog must jump over the warthog to survive.

On HPC, I have games with rocket warthogs. Someone climbs in the gunner seat and fires at the ground, and you see who manages the best stunt. Once I did a perfect backflip!

Me and my friends made up a game called 'Unfair'.

Gametype: Any
Players: As many players as you want, but in the gameplay you use 2 players
Map: Sidewinder or Blood Gulch
Player Settings: Normal
Weapons: Any setting
Others: Warthogs only, No Motion Tracker

First you all the players down who are playing.

Basically get into an open space, one player stands out in the open while the other brings a warthog to the arena.

* Player in the warthog gets out and goes around the same distance away from the warthog as the other player.
* Someone says go and they both rush to get inside it (no fighting though).
* When a player gets inside the warthog a stopwatch is started.
* From then on the player in the warthog has to try and run over the other player, the other player has to try and dodge for as long as possible. (no firing allowed from the other player!)
* When the player is killed, the stopwatch is stopped.
* Whoever got in the warthog put a little star next to their name
* Whoever had to dodge the warthog, put the time that they managed to achieve.

Keep swapping round players in a big tournament till everyone has played each other once or twice (and played the same amount of games).

For each player add up the accumulated time that they managed to dodge the warthog for. The winner (with the most time) gets a certain amount of points (the amount of players that played).

Then work out the runners up (2nd, 3rd, 4th. Keep going till you get to the last.) As you go down each player gets one less point than the player above (The amount of points should be inversly proportional to their place in the score board). If you don't get me here's an example:
1st = 8
2nd = 7
3rd = 6
4th = 5
5th = 4
6th = 3
7th = 2
8th = 1

Every star next to a players name means they get 1 point. Add these to the players' scores. You'll then find an overall winner (if you get a tie, do a 'draw at ten paces' game).

This game brings 2 strategies.
Do you try to get in the warthog every time so you score a point?
Or do you try to rack up the most time so you come first in that round?

Me and my friends found that this is really easy, once you've set up a playlist.

Also this is a really good way to burn some time when a game has been interupted (by someone going to the shop or going home/downstairs for a meal).

Just try it, there's a lot of working out an stuff and it is complicated but once you've got the jist it is really easy

Me and one of my friends try to see how close we can get the warthog to the silent cartogropher. In co-op campaign, we drove the warthog all of the way to the silent cartogropher. I order to do this we aquired two warthogs (both filled with marines for extra fun). We then had to get far enough in the level to get the security doors open. Then the fun started, we drove the warthogs down there taking turns shoving the warthogs through the small doorways and sometimes blasting the warthogs through with grenades. We eventually got the warthog right next to the control panel that you have to activate (the silent cartogropher).

i do coop on the level that starts like "i would have been your daddy" at the beginning one person really quickly presses X when knocked out of the ship and gets back in while the other commits suicide. hopefully you get a checkpoint. the ship will fly down into the hole and will sometimes hit the spinning bar things. when it does the second player will usually respawn. sometimes on the spinning bar things or the side. if they do have player one die while player two keeps jumping over the gaps in the bars(if on the spinning bars). player one will then respawn(hopefully on the side or bars). one of you will have to jump from the bars to the side. once there the other dies then respawns on the side. then you guys can kill eachother till you both have full ammo and tons of plasma pistols on the ground. then play games like jumping on the spinning rings and haveing a deathmatch or fighting on the side or whatever you can think of.

Melee Madness!
You have the kill limit to 15 and everyone has Covenant plasma pistols. Since these are the best weapons to melee with they work great! What you do is go to a level like Wizard or Derelict and play a all out Street Fighting massacre! You can only melee. What I like to do is jump off high places and do a kind of smack on the head. It is really fun if people actually don't shoot.

I play a game entitled "technical kills" with my friends. Shotguns, any stage. what you do is you think of various kill types, like headshot, back bash, rocket2head, whatev, and then you assign a point value to each.

█ █ █ █The Group of the Future....

I like Banshee Wars and Ghost Wars. Also not to mention Sky High.

Banshee Wars:
On AotCR co-op, get the early banshee. Then, have player one use the banshee. Fly through the underground room and come out the other side. When you see the drop ship fly right up and past it. Follow the big column up and on top you will find the banshee. Then have player two commit suicide. Have him spawn up on top of the column and get in the banshee. Then have player one go on to where the double bridges are. Have him find the other banshee that the elite is supposed to get in in that room (it's on the ground on the opposite side of the entrance). Have him switch banshees. Then, have him fly back to player two. Then, activate a checkpoint. You now have your banshee wars game set up.
Rule One:
No using the fuel rod gun, that ends the game too quickly and makes it not fun.
Rule Two:
No getting out of the banshees.
How to play:
Use the two captured full health banshees in a battle against each other. Use only the right trigger to shoot. Fly around shooting eachother until someone dies. Then, revert to saved for a rematch. This game is very fun.
Ghost Wars:
This game is much simpler to set up, and can be really fun. This game is not limited to two people, it can have up to four on Xbox and up to 8 on computer. You go to either Blood Gulch or Sidewinder. Have it set on slayer. Set vehicles to ghosts. Just have as many people as possible get ghosts. Then, set them equal distances apart. Let the chaos commence.
Rule One:
You can only use ghosts. Hence the name. No going off your ghost or using a warthog or scorpion or banshee (for pc/mac).
Rule Two:
If you fall off your ghost, get back on as soon as you can. You can only throw plasma grenades at people trying to run you over. No using any other weapon. Only dodging, jumping, and plasma grenades.
How to Play:
Shoot each other with the plasma guns equipped on the ghost. You can use any tactic to kill another person or avoid damage that you can think of, as long as your on your ghost. Off ghost, your only means of defense/offense are plasma grenades. When off your ghost, you are fair game to anyone who wants to run you over to score a kill. If you want to, you can add extra fun to the game and throw in people without ghosts, standing in the middle chucking plasma grenades and running around everywhere, trying to not get run over.
Sky High:
This game is as simple as Ghost Wars. This is kinda like warthog jumping with lots of twists. This is a eight player game that can be used for tournaments. Go to Sidewinder or Blood Gulch. Have it set on Oddball with only one ball with fifteen minutes as the time. That's to make sure that you can do this without having to end the game. Set it to all vehicles. Have the health at 50% and no shields so you die easy, and you go higher when you die. Have two people in the Scorpions, and four people in the ghosts. Have two people with sniper rifles so they can watch the people's bodies and count how long it takes for them to come down.
Rule One:
No sabotaging anyone else's jumps. Period. The only rule.
How to play:
Have the people in the tanks in the middle of the level. Have the people in the ghosts ramp of the front of the tanks. Then the tank shoots them in midair to kill them. If the tank misses the ghost, the person in the ghost that was missed gets to go again. Have the people with the sniper rifles watch the people's bodies and use stop watches to time from when the people in the ghosts ramped off the tank till their bodies hit the ground. Record each person's time. Take turns in the ghosts. The person who stays in the air the longest wins. You can use any way to get the highest time. You can even stick a plasma grenade to your ghost for an extra boost, which I think is more of a pro's trick because of its difficulty to pull off correctly.

Warthog jousting!
2v2, Blood Gulch, No shields
Get both people in a warthog, one driver, one side-seat, and go to the shallow valley that runs across the middle of the gulch, by the teleporter. The other team does the same at the opposite side of the valley. Make sure the side-seat people both have either shotguns or rockets. Both hogs drive at each other, passing passenger-to-passenger, at which point the each passenger takes a shot at the other. 1 point for killing the enemy passenger, 2 for both passenger and driver!
Just like knights on horseback!

HOSTAGE CRISIS!!!! you need a lot of people.

IMPORTANT: no usage of plasma weapons read to medic section to find out more
IMPORTANT: Make sure 1 life is on so it wont be impossible to get the hostage with defenders respawning

every1 needs to change their player profile before each game make a red blue black and white character of yourself.
Teams: 8v7 one red team one blue team (put on FFA but have it so your color is red or blue depending what team you are on)
one person is hostage he is black and has to look at the ground. the only time he can move is if someone shoots the ground he is looking at he can then look up and he has to follow the person that shot next to him.The defense team gets one minute to set up a defense and move the hostage on their half of the feild.(the attacking team cant look so they dont know where to exactly attack i do that because its more fun) the attacking team has to get the hostage to a certain point on the map (negotiated by everyone at the beginning of the game) if someone is moving the hostage and is killed and on1 on his team is around the hostage has to look down and wait untill the defenders or attackers move him.
Settings: no shield 200% health (for realism and for compensation of no evershields)

MEDICS:each team can get 1 medic (which are white) and is decided before the game. the medics cannot be shot by anyone.
medics can escort a injured soldier back to the defending/attacking teams base teams base and the injured soldier (if defenders choose a different place to hold the hostage they will be escorted)
people that are being escorted cannot be shot this is signaled by the medics shoting a plasma weapon in the air. once at hte base the attacker/ is on his own when he exits.
if the defenders are at a base they dont need a medic and will be able to go back themselves because medpack is so close. if the defenders are holding the hostage somewhere else the defender is escorted to thier teams color base and will be escorted back to the hostage they are then able to be shot.
players cant shoot while being escorted

I know it has a lot of rules but is really fun and involes tactics and teamwork rather than everyone doing their own thing on teams

Blood Gulch is the only good board for this, because of the hills.

das crazy!I thought of a game jsut like that with exactly the same rules and everything just like you said, and i don't know if someone has said this because i didn't really read all this but i made one called foot ball where you make it oddball and everyone gets shotguns and you use the bottom part of the level of Hang'em High and you got to go past the little part that has the shotgun sitting in it and has a little roof on top that you can stand on.

There are 2 games that I have that are really cool. One is similar to a previous post but has different rules.

I call it Jeep Warz. I tweaked this idea I saw in a book so I can't take full credit for this one. The settings are as follows: game type is race, score type is rally to 25, one life, rocket launchers only, normal health, no shields, no motion tracker, nav points, or people on radar, just team indicator on.

Now hopefully you have a lot of people, the more the better. Since it is of type race there are more Warthogs, however, the objective is not to race, it is to kill the other team. Play on Sidewinder or Blood Gultch, whatever you like more. When the game starts, each team must start are their respective bases. Now you divide your team up into drivers and shooters (shooters must be in the passenger seat, not the gunner seat).

Now someone says go, and its an all out rocket fest. However, the extra rules are, if you get out of the Warthog, either by exiting, getting flipped over, or any other means, you are out and must kill yourself. The only time you are allowed to exit, is back at the base and only if you are consolidating members. (ex: one time the shooters got killed but the drivers didn't so one hopped in the other Warthog to continue. Have fun with this one.

The other game is called the Sniper Game, this is my favorite. You have to keep same teams on same screens, so this has to have at least 2 XBoxs, Jeep Warz should be the same too

The settings are as follows: game type CTF, single flag, must reset, 15 captures(dont worry CTF is not the objective here either), 5 lives, spawn time is whatever you like(I use 10s growth just so its different each time)no shields, 50% health, sniper rifles, no indicators except friends.

We usually play on Boarding Action since this has the easiest midway point of all the levels, also the creek in Battle Creek is good too.

Other rules are no teleporting and no invisibility. Each team must stay on their side of the stage, whatever is may be. The object is to snipe the other team until they have no one left.
Some people complain about spawn killing since the countdown starts beeping then the other team focuses in on where they will respawn and you will die alot, that is why we play Battle Creek too.
Try this one out too!

Any questions or improvements... oneshot187@aol.com

Enjoy.

Hostage Crisis seems like a cool scenario, although, with the people I play with I don't know if it would work out correctly. How do you start? Is it basically like CTF with a single flag? Does the hostage start in the middle and the first team to get him is on defense or is that person already know what team he will be captured by? When you play why would you defend any other place other than the base? Or is this because the attacking team must search for the defenders? Do all the defenders have to stay in the same spot? Let me know because it sounds like a cool scenario!

ok the defense team has half of the map they put the hostage wherever they want to on their half the map (like the hill behind the red base on blood gulch) offense team has to wait untill defense is ready the attacking team has to search for the defenders (makes the game more interesting) defenders can do what they want to do when the game is started they can go where they want (it best to defend the hostage) any gametype is good just remember to set lives to 1 (for realism) at the beginning the hostage is already captured by the defense team as i said he has to look down untill someone shoots the ground in front of him signaling the hostage to look up and follow the person in front of him.

O yea if hostage runs away without anyone escorting him the defenders can shoot the hostage and it becomes last man standing and his team wins
