Regarding Halo 3, it'd be nice to have a community forum that was made specifically to allow us to coordinate custom game creation. In the mean time I'll probably try to use the classifieds.

Even better than a forum would be an actual web based system that would help us do this.

One better than that would be an in game system to allow us to find each other better.

I like your system idea. If you could check a box up by your name in the sign in box on the top right of the screen. The box would indicate you are looking for custom games. When it's checked, your name appears on a page created by the webmaster. People can go to that page and choose who they want to play with.

Or something like that. It isn't perfect, but it would be a cool concept. That way, an additional forum wouldn't have to be moderated and it would eliminate clutter from archived threads.

**EDIT: Actually, if you could just go to a "custom gamers" page and check a box there to put your name on a list on that page, that would be cool too. The page could even be divided into different game types. I think Bungie is too busy dealing with people's complaints right now to do anything like this though. Too bad. It would be a cool feature.

Just use the classifieds. That's why it's there. If you want to host one, go post there. If you're looking for a custom game, go check there.

Seriously. It's hardly used because everyone neglects to use it. Yet, you feel like you need to complain about it's non-existence.

This guy here has a site going that pretty much covers it. http://www.h3customs.com/

But it would be much better if Bungie made their own because then we'd all go to one source.

Can a moderator add the above link to a thread of interest or something? At least that way people would have a place to go instead of reposting the same complaints/questions over and over again. It's at least a temporary solution, right?

I agree though... an in-game feature may be too difficult to add, but a Bungie sub-site that allows users to post and search for custom games as easily as this place does would be great. I'm already a member. Shake and Bake!
