Should be optonal, just like the toggle to crouch thingy people want, and most other control things.

depends, halo needed it to some extent, because the guns in halo were not really rhat accurate, besides the sniper. If you had no auto-aim at all then half the time with the pistol, even if the circle was on their head you would still probably miss. If all the guns with scope were perfectly accurate and you would auctually hit people when your scope was on them then I would be fine without it.

There is a small Auto-Aim system in Halo 1, where if the reticle turns red you will turn ever so slightly towards it, from what i can see when i play. (But you already knew that) I think something like that is probably gonna stick around but i don't know. Any more than anyone else. Like Daltin said, the Sniper had no effect on it when you targeted someone, whereas the AR seemed to have a realativly strong effect, it's all balanced to make the game fair. Oh and fun, don't forget to have fun..

Is this what caused at random moments for you to be suddenly looking straight down when you are firing?

the auto aim that i am talking about was usualy when i would be shooting at flood with the shooty and i would stand around a corner so that when they came my way i was forcing them to enter my view in front of my retical and sometimes i would be blasting away at a wave of infected flood where there were 5 or six of them one behind the other with some space between them. if the retical didnt move i could shoot and plow them all down but every once in a while a popcorn flood would jump and miss me but the auto aim would target it and pull my retical towards it and away from the wave of infected flood so i would have to move my retical back to where the infected flood were because im not gong to waste a shot on a single popcorn flood. i dunno if this bothered anyone else but it was just one of the annoying things that cold be fixed with an option to have it on or off.

i think it should be optional because if youre a newb or just suck its there. But if youre a badass and want to play like real life turn it off.

Halo CE really lacked player control of options like turn on/off and adjustments in an options setting. Hopefully halo 2 will have them.

The pistol in Halo was auto-aim. If you dont believe me play the PC version, there is NO auto-aim in that version and you can definately tell the difference. Your reticule didn't move, but when it was red your bullets flew straiter.

I totally agree with Agent404, autoaim is STUPID!!! Even if your a newb., you should still learn it the old fashion way, practicing. Plus autoaim, takes 90% of the skill out of the game, o yeah, and there was autoaim in CE?? Was that only on easy, because there wasn't any on Legendary....

To kill in a FPS you have to move a reticule to a target and shoot while trying to keep the reticule on them. If there was autoaim and u play FPSs on PC auo aim is Aimbotting little brother and it takes away ALL the skill (besides teamwork and strategy)

i would hate auto aim, it gets rid of the fun of (in mp) seeying an enemy and having to aim shoot and kill him be4 he does the same to u

f u c k anything that the origional game didnt have when it comes to the movement. If they did that it would totaly kill the consept of the great movement. Bungie stick with origional halo movement

Auto-aim HAS to be enabled (a little, but its still AA) for all console FPS's. Aiming with joysticks isnt anywhere near as easy as with a keyboard and mouse. Notice in Halo, if you have your cross hairs on an ememy and the emeny moves, your cross hairs will move with him for a while. Thats auto-aim
