OK I think everyone is tired of complaining about SPAM on the forum but there is another anoying trend in the threads. It is not just Join my Clan threads. The ones I see now is Bungie Please Read threads. I don't know if there is a ruel against that or not. But come on Bungie already reads and I am sure they have beter stuff to do with their time than Please listen to my 2 cents.

I think petitions are against the rules, but I'm not entirely sure.

The problem is, most of the subjects with those titles don't really NEED bungie to read them. Same with the, 'MOD'S MUST READ!!' or 'poll: blah blah blah (MOD'S SHOULD STICKY THIS)'.

What the creators of those topics seem to fail to realize is that people have a instinctive and opposite reaction to being told what to do.

I mean, how many times does use of the term "STFU" actually result in someone shutting up? I can't recall anytime, unless you include imposed (by blacklisting) silence.

Silence can also be imposed by a swift punch in the face, but that's like real life blacklisting.

On top of that, the people who ask for their topics to be stickyed are usually the ones whose topics don't deserve it.

Do people still see stickies as some kind of medal? I remember stuff like that came up a long time ago.

so the quest for the golden sticky is still on. Too bad they're looking in all the wrong places.

Haha, that is so true. Do you think that one day they'll decide to stop looking in Zanzibar? *goes there just to laugh at the fact there are 8 stickies... 9 counting the rules* :-P

I admit, I actually tried to make a sticky in Zanzibar, something final on how to put the Bungie.net logo behind your name in Halo 2, but I was doing it to try to stop all the stray posts about it, not to get a sticky. either way, I failed, it just drowned in all the posts.

Edit: or the mods don't like me.

it is man! i got a sticky once and i was real happy suddenly. now i really don't care.
It's amazing how many people think that you're a mod or even a bungie employee if one of your topics is a sticky.

I got about a dozen PMs with that question. If someone is ever going to ask me that question again i'm going to say yes for fun.

And hey, Bungie should really READ THIS. :P

It's awesome when you post intellegently and explain in detail your reasons and people say you work for Bungie.

Toast has a growing fanbase!

"OMG it's Toast! Mr. Bungie man why iz Halo 2 teh suxx?11!shift+one!11!
P.S. Plz get me a job at Bungle I r teh gud!"

Indeed, some people easily mistake competence for authority.

to bad i can't say that many intelligent things, that never was one of my strong points :(

ahumm, yes the "Bungie please read" threads are damn annoying. just lock it whenever they use something like that. All the posts are about "where can i gwet the sword on outskirts?" anyway.
