(Finally!)

Whenever I registered on this site is when the problem occurred, I just popped in the Halo disc to play a few rounds online, and simply put it wouldn't start. I skipped through the usual Bungie, Gearbox, and Microsoft, but at Microsoft it freezes up and the beginning screen music begins to play. Messing around I managed to load up one of my storyline saves and fired off my gun just like I normally would. Except, well, I couldn't see a thing. So just let it go through the Bungie, Gearbox, and Microsoft bits you say? Tried that, then all I get is a black screen and the same situation.

Shortly after I registered on this site I tried a few more times to get it to load up and it did once. I had the pleasure of playing a few matches and everything. I try again the next day and it gives me the same trouble. Any ideas on what on Earth could be causing it? I've had the game since May 22 or 23, 2007 so I don't understand why it would happen all of a sudden.

Have you installed any programs lately? Even seemingly harmless ones, especially from the internet, may run in the background and use up resources or conflict with drivers. Try downloading the latest drivers for your video card and update your drivers. Speaking of that what are your computer specs videocard etc.

Try using the -novideo command argument. This will disable the intro videos.

I think installing the latest drivers did the trick. Still though, it's odd that it only suddenly decided to do that.

Thanks for the replies though. Hopefully I won't have to worry about it doing this again.
