Bungie, you have my back on the name of these maps, right? Just in case they ever become copyright material, you found it here first :) Anyways, I have 2 game types that work well together for Infection and 2 maps that go with them specifically. However, one game type can be used on any map and I think is rather fun.
Anyways, the first map is called 28 Years Later. It is a fun map on High Ground and is specifically made so that the zombies have a hard time getting into the base. One thing that makes it different from most Infection games is that there are way more zombies that humans. In fact, the number of Infected is set to about 7. However, I suggest that about 75% of playes should start as Infected. It worked well during play testing.
The forward bunker is blocked rather well but is not impossible to get into. It will just take some time while under a lot of fire. There is an extra turret on sniper tower that helps cover the gate and the cliff side (near the invisible power-up... which has been removed) so it makes a rip-saw with the main turret over the gate. There is another turret covering the double hallways coming from the bunker to the main base. On the roof over the main turret are all 4 types of grenades and a land mine. This is one of 2 places to pick up grenades if you start as a human. Last, if a human wants to put his/her life on the line, the flamethrower is up for grabs, but they have to go outside of the wall in order to grab it. It sits just out in front of the main gate.
The main pathway through the cliffs (where the sniper rifle normally sets) has been completely blocked off, causing the Infected to funnel right towards the base. Also, on the right of the main gate (while facing the base) I have stacked numerous crates of different sizes to severly slow down any attack from that side. However, they are movable, but the turret that is in the tower will help cover that area. Plus, the other threat is that if an Infected makes it near the wall they can still make it throught the pipes.
One of the biggest things (and by far the coolest) that you will see are a lot of fusion coils coming up to the base. They are placed on the base-side of numerous bunkers so that the defenders may use grenades and wepons to shoot them whenever infected zombies get close. They respawn often, and I even managed to get a few to actually roll down the hill constantly towards the beach so they may be shot while moving.
Here are a few pics of the map so you get a good idea of what it all looks like before you download it.

The second map and game variant are a nice change from regular Infection games. I call the game type Infection Hunt. This is an awesome game that pretty much puts 4 humans out to hunt down and kill the rest of the playes (the Infected) on any map. They are well equipped with sniper rifles and shotguns with infinite ammo, along with grenades. The beauty of it is, everyone only has one life. Therefore, they are truly hunting down the Infected players on the map. However, the Infected are slightly tougher (but don't have shields) and are slightly faster (110% speed). However, there is no radar for the humans other than friendlies. Plus, they can quickly go from hunters to hunted...
A REALLY cool map that I have also provides a different type of Infection Hunt called Breakout. Imagine a real-life movie with zombies - the only goal is to survive and ESCAPE. This takes place on Valhalla. The humans (only 4 again) can either work together or go FFA, but their goal is to make it from one end of Valhalla to the other where their Hornets are waiting for them. They only have 1 life and no respawns. Again, there is no radar, but there is limited ammunition for the humans. So, once they're out of ammo, they have to book it on foot. There are no vehicles either. The cool thing is that rounds only last for about 3-4 minutes. That's all the time they have to make it to their hornets. However, once they do make it to the hornets, hunting down those base-terd Infected will be easy because they can't touch you. And it really racks up your score for being the "best hunter" out of the 4 starting on your team.
Go ahead and enjoy them. Bungie, if you're watching/listening/taking over the world, etc... Try them out yourself. Especially the 28 Years Later and the game variant Infection Hunt. I know that 28 Days Later was a huge hit when we played in online (with strangers I didn't really know, but they loved it...) and I haven't really had time to try the Infection Hunt. Let me know what you think! Thanks and hopefully I have shown you something you haven't seen already.
