Its a redesign of valhalla to compensate for the issues I, and many others I know, have been having with the default map present in BTB or Social slayer gametypes. Terrain advantages seem to have never been really considered by bungie, leading to some pretty poor gameplay as either one team holds the center hill (the one you man cannon to that has the laser) or banshee hording. The first issue occurs as, the center hill is easily accessible for both teams, thus allowing a constant stream of targets and reinforcements for the controling team. Secondly, there is a SIGNIFICANT height advantage, especially for the team with the waterfall base as not only can you always just back up to get into cover, but grenades are nearly useless for the attacking team. It also doesn't help that there is a forementioned laser right there. You can control the ENTIRE map from that one spot.
Now, with this map the vehicle balance has been changed, though the actual vehicle number has remained the same. Banshees, given valhallas unique terrain, have TOO much of an advantage with their independance of that terrain. It can just duck behind one of seemingly hundreds of rock faces or trees, or even the bases and it can avoid pretty much anything you throw at it, only to re-emerge to wreak unrestricted havoc on the infantry. Sure theres a missle pod for each base, and the laser, but when the banshee is on the team controling the hill, then those missle pods make the users VERY vulnerable to all sorts of infantry weapons. So, the banshee will always reside for the controling team, leaving the other team with very few viable means of coming back.
So, this map has sought to remedy the staunch advantages that can be gained from merely controling the middle. The weapons have been restructured, somewhat, concentrated around the bases, allowing for better defense of them from spawn campers on the ridge, though not necessarily from full frontal assaults that would be present in CTF or Assault gametypes. Vehicles are all terrestrial, and also structured such that to be truly effective, each ones limitations need to be compensated for by the other vehicles. I would get into this, but I will just let you play it, if you guys want a map that compensates for inbalances with default map settings that seem to not be geared for Slayer, but territories.
This is just a revisement of valhalla, nothing more nothing less. I am still revising it, however, so if I change it significantly enough I will post a new link. Dont expect flying elephants, its just valhalla. Also, gametype does not matter that much for this map. Just use anything that you would use on valhalla, except race, I have not Incroperated that into the map yet.
